What’s disappointing is when you want to check someone’s blog out but you can’t because everything is white and the text is light grey (almost white) and tiny. Or sometimes it’s the other way around in which the background is all dark with the text is also dark. Both ways make it difficult to read and I always like to check people’s blog before I think of even following them. But it’s hard to do that when I can’t read their about me to find out who they are and what they like.
Also some people’s blogs have a layout that makes it hard to navigate. They tend to disguise buttons and place them in odd places. For example they don’t have endless scrolling so the only way to continue is to click on the next button but you can’t do it when you don’t know where it is or what it’s disguise as. Sometimes they don’t even have the next button and you wasted time trying to find it.
I don’t have a problem with every layout. What I don’t like is those that have certain aspects to them that are annoying and poorly thought through. It doesn’t help that I have bad eyes and need glasses to see, so it’s not advisable for me to be straining them when the text is so small (and matches the background color).
