Nick Roberts is a young man just looking to leave the world as far behind him as he can, and live his life on his boat. Too bad he's now the center of media attention thanks to the strange nude girl he rescued from the ocean, and two powerful, and seemingly hungry sharks. The media want his hero story, the athorities want the truth, and Nick finds himself wanting the girl, but she's not an easy target. For one thing Nick can't help but recall the flash of silver scales as he hauled her onto his boat, he can't explain the diamond combs and pins that kept her hair tightly pinned to her head, and he can't explain why she was out in the middle of the ocean.
Only she holds the key to everything, and while she's talking, she's not saying anything about where she's from or who she is. Behind that dark hair, and storm grey eyes, he knows she has the answers. But how far is he willing to go with her to get them?
