so ren doesn't have the clearance to actually do surgery or use doctor equipment since she doesn't have the degree or really learned any of those modern medicine techniques sort of (i mean she's got that library, but no formal education) so since she helped out when she was in hs,, and Doctor forbid her from actually handling the tools and she's not allowed to heal people for free she tends to improvise i guess use common house hold objects instead of surgical instruments e.g straws, fabric scissors, duct tape, etc also those markers lol and post-it notes things that shouldn't work, but somehow do?? like belief really matters in that sense,, idk no professional would trust her methods but the people that trust her, trust her.
