I was sitting down by the fire Black lit one night, He had left for a few days and just came back he had then gone off again to hunt something down for himself. I however had already a nice meal of fish, salamander and river crab. The river crab was a nice delectable, it had a hard shell obviously. But not hard enough for my fangs.
My ears flicked as they heard the sound of a horse. No...make that two...
I drop water on the fire and put it out. I grab a bunch of leaves and forest brush to cover it all up. I then jumped and climbed up a pine tree, trying to hide quietly among the annoying pokes from the bristles.
The sound of two men approaches, I peer through the branches. They were humans. Ridiculous fools they can be at times. i could see they were mere travelers at first look. One was holding a lantern to see a map in their other hand. They were exchanging small talk. The horse treaded over the fire and jumped back. I bit my lip, it might've felt the afterheat of the fire...rats.
The other traveler blinked, "What's yer horse's issue?" He jumped from his saddle and looked at where it stepped. He ran his hand above it, "Someone's been here...or still is...." He stood up and looked around, as if he could find me...fool.
I looked at the pool of water and got a mischievous idea...hee-hee-hee
The travelers heard a gurgling laugh and turned around. A blueish imp thrashed out of the bushes, it's eyes glowing a slimed green.
The Men gave nervous glances at one another. Then water fell from above and they saw more eyes and heard the laughter, they turned and ran like bats out of hell. The other traveler left his horse he hadn't been scared one bit by the imps. I sighed and the imps and eyes disappeared and fell to the floor turning into mere water again. I jumped from the tree and looked at the horse, it was a white mustang with pitch black hair and gently brown eyes. I walked up to the horse, and it gave a neigh to me.
It gestured it's head to the map on the floor and I picked it up.
Black had tons of maps and was starting to teach me how to read them.
From my guess, they X was right under my feet. I lifted the stone next to me and gaped.
A locket was under there. I picked it up and dropped the stone, I used my shirt and wiped clean as best as possible. It was pure silver and I was able to open it, the inside holding a large diamond placed in it carefully. I slipped it over my neck and looked at it, it was really pretty.
