W00t! So I just got off from a week of hard studying and mock-exam-writing.
On monday I had English in the morning which I totally stuffed up. I memorised two essays for the novel and film questions they were going to ask us, but unfortunately they didn't have any of the questions I'd practiced...o_O; Well that pretty much set the tone for the rest of the english exam. I was screwed. Indeed I was. When I was writing the fiml essay I (stupidly) didn't read the question properly and it said to include verbal, visual and color techniques. I didn't do that so that's one essay I know I phailed at ^^ The second essay was alright, I managed to turn it around a bit so it had some relevance to the question. And reading comprehension was alright but it took a long time so I only had half-an-hour to write my formal writing section.
And then in the afternoon I had maths. Algebra, trig, probability and a bunch of other things. Algebra I pretty much failed, trig was alright, probablility I aced, and I think there was geometry...that was also bad. Bad bad bad....>.< After spending 6 hours worth of exams I staggered home to study for the next day:
Which just so happened to be Information tech and science. Now IT was easy, it just took a long time. Our teacher never teaches us anything, she lets us play games all the time and as a consequence we didn't know how to do half of the things on the test paper. Luckily I have brains and I used the 'help' icon on word. Duh. But all in all I still forgot to design that back of the ticket and so I think I got a merit.
Science. It was good! biggrin I still know I got a few questions wrong out of the 3 papers, (Bio, chem, phys) but I know I did my best. The worst questions were in the bio paper. They asked about the decomposition cycle and they gave us a whole friggin' page to write stuff and I wrote 4 lines. Very short lines. Stupidly I thought that the decomposition cycle had nothing to do with the nitrogen cycle and so I talked about saprophytic bacteria and their wastes....-_-;
And it was sooooooo long too. I feel sorry for the people who started on bio first. Most didn't finish the exam.
Then come wednesday found me frantically studying terms and definitions for accounting. That went off well. I have no complaints there ^^ What else did I do? Hm...I can't remember what we had after ac....NO WAIT! It was Religious studies.
Now THAT was a friggin' boring 'exam'...Open book, 2 hours and I was done in half. I spent the rest of the time waiting for the exit point at 1 hour and a half drawing on the back of my exam paper. The whole back page is covered in doodles. Now if I get questions wrong in that rs exam it's gonna be embarassing because the teachers were looking at me pointedly as if to say, 'check your work, stoopid,' all the while I was drawing.
Then on thursday I had french in the afternoon. It was bad. I translated so many things wrong and I know in my writing I got tons of verbs wrong. But that's OK! Because french is another language and no-one will blame me (much) for getting things wrong.
Now, they say that these mocks don't count for anything, but they actually do. If I'm away in my real end-of-year exams they'll use my results from these ones -le shudder-...
I only have one more week of school left before the holidays. I need cash. So I think now I'll take the plunge, get off my lazy a** and get a job... gonk
