Today was the day of our Young Womens group Evening of Excellence. I spent my time after school to find something that I could display and show that I have done something to improve myself. I didn't just want to show that I have started to read the Book of Mormon, which I barely have, but I really couldn't find anything else. With the exception of following the For the Strength of Youth pamphlet the Book of Mormon was the only thing I could display. Realization struck me that I really haven't been working that much on myself and in ways I have gotten worse. Sure, I don't procrastinate as much as I used to, but my lying as gotten so much worse. After Evening of Excellence it hit me that I really need to change my ways and "Arise and shine forth that thy light might be a standard for the nations" (Docterine & Covenants 115:5). So, now I'm just going to work on myself and myself only. If you know the bad reputation of me, hopefully you will soon see yourself saying goodbye to that girl you used to know. As I read in the Book of Mormon everyday I will post a summary of the chapter of the book I read from. This will be called "Book of Mormon Summary"
Book of Mormon Summary First Nephi Chapter One In the first chapter of the first book of Nephi it speaks of Nephi's father Lehi. Lehi had heard prophets prohesying the distruction of Jerusalem and goes unto the Lord in prayer for answers of what the prophesies mean. He was answered by and angel that if Jerusalem would not repent then it shall be destroyed. After learning this Lehi went unto his people and warned them of these things and they must repent or all shall be destroyed. I know that most of you don't believ in the Mormon religion, but this religion is the one I belong and believe in. I know in my heart and soul that Joseph Smith is a true prophet and that Gordon B. Hinkley is the true living prophet today, I know that my church is the true church, and I know that Jesus Christ is our savior and the true son of God. I say these thing in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
