Don't mis-interperet my subject title for something dirty, you phoos.
Last night was our district's FBA MPA. (Florida Bandmasters Association Marching Performance Assessment.) For you non-band-o's, it's not a competition, it's just an assessment, where you perform and the nasty old judges give you a rating in different categories, and then an overall score.
We got to stay and pretty much watch all of the bands...and it was fun....yadda-yadda-yadda....but that's not my point.
OKAY, so, there was this stand that had lots of fun merchandise last night. I bought a T-shirt, a button ((both of which, Clarinet related)) and a wristband that says "Band nerd."
My dad came to watch for a little bit, but then he left and he took the t-shirt and the button home with him. I kept the wristband on.
Later, I was showing it off to my friend, Natasha, and she was jealous...'cause it's uber. And conveniently my band director was sitting close to where we were, so I showed him my wrist band too.
So, I pushed up the sleeve of my jacket, and I pointed to the wristband, saying, "Look, Mr. Brown...look what I bought!" And of course, I was all excited, since I'm a dork like that. And Mr. Brown just gave me one of those looks. That look he gives me right before he tells me that I have issues after I've done something weird.
Anyway, he was giving me that look, and he said, "You didn't...."
I slowly pulled my sleeve down, after that, and just told him that he was just jealous that he couldn't have one. He just shook his head.
Whatever, Mr. Brown. Gawd.
