"It's time to talk again...." A deep voice echoed through the vast room. Eden looked around the room in a panicky fashion, although on the inside she was as calm as she could possibly be. She had been trapped in this "facility" for around eleven years now, weekly a man by the name of Sydney would come and ask her pointless questions, with pointless answers, telling her to tell the truth, even when she was. As far as she was concerned these people were a bunch of crackpots.
"Already?" She said with slight annoyance.
"Yes, my dear," Yet another thing she hated about this place, no matter how many times she told them her name they still called her dear. "Cupcake?" Sydney asked revealing his ghostly white hand, containing a vanilla cupcake with pink frosting and rainbow sprinkles. She took the cupcake with great curiousity and eagerness, but still was cautionary.
"Thank-you, Sydney" She examined the cupcake before unwrapping the bottom paper and taking a small bite of it. It tasted wonderful, she savored each chew, the sweetness overwelming her tastebuds. She had not had something like this since the day she came here, when her mother had given her one before leaving her for good, that was also the last time she had been in the outside world, even then her five year old self didn't like the world well, that still remained. She swallowed the last of the luscious cupcake with a satisfied gulp.
"Now-" Sydney began to speak, but Eden cut him off.
"Time for the questions?" She said a little annoyed, but the cupcake had given her a new vigor, and a lot more paitence.
"Actually, no...We're doing something new this time. Stand-up and follow me."Shocked by the change she stood up and trailed after him, her knee length hair trailing gracefully behind her. As she emerged through the door that lay at the far end of the room, she blinked her vibrant blue eyes vigourisly in the scorchingly bright that lay outside of the dimness of her "room".She followed him into yet another dimly lit room, however this one containeed many racks of clothes. A smile shone through her usually concealing eyes.
" I think you know what to do here," Sydney smiled, she smiled back and began to walk. She normally wasn't much of one to care about what exactly she looked like, but this was different, while gazing around she had spotted a rather covering, but still extremely cute. She made her way quickly towards it. As she approached it she noticed that it was not latex as it had appeared, but more rather leather. She grabbed the two-piece garment, along with the gloves and boots that lay with it.
" I thought you would choose that one." Sydney smiled."If you wouldn't mind following me some more, so I can take you over to where you can change, then I will take you to one more place before you are presented with your new room, or if you prefer, cell" She chuckled a little at his small inside joke.
" No problem" Eden's spirits were high now. She carried theoutfit over her right arm, the boots in her left hand, along with the gloves. Once more she was blinded by the light, but for long. Sydney no sooner stepped out, turned and then motioned for her to enter, however he did not follow. She was shocked at first, but relieved afterwords, for it was the woman's restroom. She stepped calmly into the first open stall, then began to change. The suit fit perfectly. After she slid her boots on she grabbed her old, very well worn clothes and stepped out of the bathroom. As she moved towards Sydney she caught a glimsp of not only him but others around her, jaws drop, or gasp. When she resumed her place next to Sydney he handed her a black scrunchie, that corresponded to her outfit. Almost instinctivly she pulled her hair back into a lone ponytail, more jaws dropped. She held a subconcious smile in her eyes and in her mind, on the outside however her mouth stayed a firm line, determined not to break. When they arrived at the last door she was to enter before she went to her new room, she was unsure on what to expect. She entered the door expecting her eyes to have to adjust, but got surprised when she didn't have to, the light was equal to the lighting in the previous area. She was rather shocked by what she now saw. It looked like a training ground of some sort. Beside her lay a wall, hanging upon it was weapons, varying in size and type. Just noticing that her pants had gun and knife holsters she grabbed the weapons of her choice . Which, by the way, was a nine-millimeter, a sniperrifle, a butterfly knife and a katana.
"I see you understand part of this with no issue, now for the next part. You are to try and get to the other side of this vast room without dying, if you make it through you will find yourself plesently surprised. Also if you make it, you would be the first, that we know of anyway." This slightly unsettled Eden, but she acted like it didn't as she shrugged her shoulders and disappeared silently into the dark, mysterious forestry ahead.
Days had past or so it seemed, her guns were empty, as well as her stomach, nearby she heard some rustling. This of course had startled her, several days in the wilderness, all alone, and you would be surprised at how used to the near complete silence, that lays heavily around you, encircling aournd you with a nonexistent fog, you could get. She pulled her katana out in a defensive stance, ready to strike. What she saw though, surprised her, it was not a simple forest rat or other animal, it was another person.
"Woah... Ummmm....Hi?" the person said. They had black hair and green eyes, his skin was also rather pale, much like her own.
"Errrrrr...Hi?" Eden said, almost shyly, he was rather dashing.
"I'm sorry if I scared you, but to be honost, you had scared me, it has been a while since I've seen another human being," He held out his hand "I'm Vince" He smiled a goofy smile.
"No problem, " he didn't look convinced, "Really. I'm Eden" She returned his smile, except for not so goofy, then she accepted his hand and they shook hands.
"Come on, follow me. I'll take you to where I have made myself a place to live, I have food there too." He said with yet another smile. She returned his smile then followed him.
Several minutes later they arrived at Vince's abode.
