It
it waits deep within me
preying on my very soul
waiting for the perfect moment to corrupt my self control
to evolve into something i cannot control
it slowly turns purity and warmth
into a
violent, hateful, cold and deceiving creature that preys on the kindness of strangers and the warmth of a smile
until nothing is left
the kindness turns into hatred and anger
from a smile to the middle finger
for those who who do not see the world as it is; a place of depression, jealousy, and hate
but as a world of
laughter, happiness, love and hope
they are blind and undoubtedly mistaken
but of course these things exist
but as soon as it takes over
nothing is left

Description:
a poem about...well i'm not sure
maybe about depression?
maybe what we feel when we loose our innocence?
or maybe some feeling we all have inside that when unleashed it changes everything...? - Date: 07/28/2008

- I really like this is because it successfully mimics the panicked dialogue that would go through one's mind contemplating something as dark as "It." Very disorganized, inconsistent, jagged... good emotional projection with how it's constructed. wink However, there are a couple parts where you seemed stuck on word choice? (The part where you talk about the world being a place of hate/jealousy or love/hope... those adjectives seem very overdone and lack creativity.) Otherwise, expressed very well.
