In a snow covered field a body lays.
In a dormant sleep she waits for a time when she can reign.
The ice in her hair clings to a pale face.
Snow covers a dress from ages past.
A sleep she waits.
The birds fly south at the sight of her.
Eyes open to the sound of wings.
The time has come for her to reign again.
In her eyes is the fresh snow that has yet to come.
The Lady Winter awakes.
Where she walks fresh snow follows; where she touches ice forms.
The wind whips up around her sending out it's never ending chill.
She laughs in the cold and it sounds like snowball fights and children at play.
With her arrival comes great happiness for children of all ages.
This is her time and she will hold it dear until it's time for her to sleep and wait again.
