in the land of the zodiac there were 2 that were closely related. The ever proud dragon that soared above others, and the adventurous snake that crept the earth. the dragon family took the snake in as their own, for they too were similar in structure, but alas did not have the wings.
Through years of cooperation and assistance, a lonely dragon met a charming snake. The dragons are easily decieved, blinded by their own wings, thus this dragon felt as if the snake he had met was one of his own. He treated the snake equal, and even at times convinced the other zodiac members the the snake was truly a dragon! the two were almost unseperable, finishing eachothers sentance, and sharing their interests.
Unfortunatly, dragons could not be tamed to the earth much like the snake could. after every day, the dragon would return to the sky, where the thoughts and ambitions of dragons always lay. The snake wept for her new found friend and begged that he visit the earth more... but the dragon was shy, which he dared not show, and hid the emotion in the sky. everyday he returned to the earth he was begged to stay with the snake. though dragons may be brave and admired, attacking their weak spots can tear them apart on the inside. He lied through his powerful teeth, for he only wanted to please his friend and only wanted the snake to be happy. but everytime he returned to the sky he knew that he was wrong, and should stay hidden.
after many visits, and many pleads, the snake had heard enough of the dragon's tales. unlike the dragon, the snake was smart and nothing could pass unoticed. she soon realized that they had both been tricked... they are not of the same kin. for the dragon had always imagined in the sky, where nothing could ever meet; where as the snake was down to earth, where everything was logical and right. The dragon knew his defeat and soon noticed he too had tricked himself... he could not say sorry. his pride would not let him. he fled back to his ever loving sky, where no one could toutch him, yet everyone envied his ability to lift off the floor. it was his strength and yet his downfall... the sky was meant for him, yet it was the only place where a dragon can be excepted.
months passed, and the dragon remained in the air, looking over his meeting place with the snake. he sighed and looked at his memories he had placed in the sky and laughed at how they never touched the floor. he felt as if his wings had been clipped... and when a dragon looses his wings, it is a sad sight indeed. he always made promises to himself to solve the very problem he had created, but all his thoguhts remained in the sky... and so did he, lost in the sky forever, never to see his snake friend he cherished so much.
his pride wrecked, his wings in tact, the dragon agreed everyday that he would definitly prefer his wings to be gone, yet his pride still burning. that way he would learn to walk the earth with all the zodiac animals, and learn what it was like to tihnk down to earth... but alas, this tale ends sour, and the dragon is left in the air, looking down at everything he could have had.
