Dinin's story part 2
1 week later
"Hiendric haltireck magafedus teriunis qaflatreck." She said, mimicking the words he had just been teaching her for the passed fifteen minutes. A bunch of smoke appeared and a massive purple shield appeared between them. He touched it and it immediately disappeared.
"Ya did it wrong." He pointed out after a minute of silence. She laughed.
"Ya think?" She asked sarcastically. He smirked.
"All right. Let's see. The words were right. But you didn't concentrate it to the right place." He put his finger right at her chest, between her collar bones. "You have to put the power right there." He pushed slightly and his finger sunk into the small gap. "Right there. Ya got it?" He asked. She sighed.
"I think so." She said. She repeated the chant and concentrated on the place where his finger rested. Her skin tingled where his finger was and she shifted uncomfortably. The shield appeared, but when he touched it, it disappeared again.
"You aren't concentrating!" He said, frustrated.
"I'm sorry!" She cried defensively. He sighed.
"Look, if you aren't concentrating, you can't preform this spell! You NEED to concentrate!" He pushed the skin in again. "Right there!"
"I am!" She yelled angrily.
"Obviously not! Your mind is wandering too much! You have to put your complete mind into this spell! If you don't, you might as well just give up cause you'll never get it! It's not that hard!"
"It is!"
"It is not!"
"It is when you're touching me!" She yelled suddenly. She gasped and her hand clasped over her mouth quickly. "I mean-"
He looked at her blankly. He sighed and shook his head in exasperation.
"All right then." He pulled his finger away and nodded. "Ya good now, you childish tree elf?" He asked. She nodded slowly, then closed her eyes and repeated the chant. She concentrated with her entire mind and the shield went up. He touched it and was immediately shocked. He jerked his hand away and looked at her approvingly.
"Good. That's it." He said. She beamed.
"See, I'm not so bad." She said.
"Yes you are." He said immediately. He looked at the sun dial beside them and sighed. "We've been out here a while. We better get back in or they'll get suspiscious." He sighed as he stood up.
"Suspiscious of what?" She asked after a couple minutes of silence.
"Suspiscious that you're helping me escape." He answered slowly. She quickly nodded.
"Right." She said quickly. He looked at her suspisciously and looked straight ahead again.
They walked in silence back to the massive stone building at the bottom of the tree. He stood in the hallway as she walked in.
"Um... let's go." She said as she began to walk toward the dungeon.
"I don't want to sleep there tonight." He said as he gripped her hand and pulled her back to look at him. She frowned.
"Well... you have to. If you don't... they'll get suspiscious, won't they?" She asked.
"I'm not spending one more night in that blasted dungeon. I'm a prince, I do not live in dungeons." He pointed out angrily. She stared at him blankly.
"You do when you're a prisoner." She said as she pulled her hand free.
He stared at her angrily. "I can escape any time I wish." He said as he stepped toward her. She looked at him angrily.
"Then why haven't you?" She asked. He frowned as he glared down at her. He had no answer. Well, none that he could tell her. The reason he had stayed, was because of Lokewen. Her eyes made him feel really good. He loved them. They were so different, he had never seen anything like them. It was like a little kid going to a lake and seeing a fish for the first time, then watching it for the rest of the day. That's what he felt like.
"Because we had a deal. But I've taught you enough spells. I want out. Now." He said angrily. She stared at him.
"You're serious." She said somberly. He nodded.
"You said, if I taught you spells, you would help me escape. I have taught you plenty of them, I want to leave. Now." He said, getting more agitated. She stared at him, then shook her head.
"But... There's still so much more to learn!"
"No! I said 'some'! I didn't say 'all'! If you don't help me, I'll kill you and escape by myself!" He yelled in a low voice. She looked at him sadly.
"But-"
"No. No 'buts'. I want to leave." He said. She stared at him with desperation in her eyes.
"I... I..." She frowned. She had no reason to make him stay. He had fullfilled his end of the bargain, so he was allowed to go. But... for some reason, she wanted him to stay. She sighed. "I can't allow it, dark elf." She said slowly and seriously.
He nodded and turned to walk away. "Then I'll have to leave by myself." He said, an undetectable sorrow in his voice. She frowned.
"I can't allow it, dark elf!" She yelled again. He reached for the door knob.
"Hiendric haltireck magafedus teriunis qaflatreck!" She suddenly screamed. A purple shield appeared in front of the door, blocking his path. He spun around and glared at her.
"Did you think I would teach you such a spell without a way to beat it myself, tree elf witch?!" He screamed with fury. She stared at him, with anger and fear in her eyes. He slammed his hands together, concentrating on the small gap in between his palms. "Calientrika fargretinaek shigvier qebuama!" He screamed. Immediately, the shield behind him shot out into splinters, illuminating the hallway like fire works.
He stormed over to her and clasped his hand over her neck, squeezing. She tried to kick or hit him but he held her out of reach and blocked his arm with a powerful spell.
"Die witch!" He yelled furiously. She stared at him sadly. She slammed her own hands together, then sent them springing up above her in one movement.
"Oomier hielgiende!" She cried. Immediately, a massive guardian appeared beside them and the beast grabbed Dinin's arm and jerked, sending the dark elf into the massive beast.
The guardian grabbed both of the dark elf's arms and held him tight.
Lokewen fell to her knees and gasped for breath. He tried to get free, pulling with all of his stength against the cyclops, but the guardian had him held tightly in his massive beefed arms.
Dinin cried out in pain as the guardian began to squeeze, sending the wind from Dinin's lungs. He gasped for breath, trying to gather as much as possible so that he could cast a spell, but no air would come. He felt the life draining from him as the cyclops continued to sqeeze tighter and tighter. He felt a rib snap, then another, and another. He cried out in agony and suddenly everything went black. His head fell back and he went limp.
The guardian looked at Lokewen, who nodded for him to release Dinin. He did so, then disappeared. Dinin fell to the floor in a heap of blood. Dinin slowly brought in breath, being unconscious. Lokewen sighed in relief. She looked at him with pity, it was her nature. She was always so forgiving. She sighed. She didn't know if she should heal him, or let him recooperate himself.
She examined his wounds. He would live. And he would have to stay for another two to three months. She smiled at this.
"Allessier!" She cried. A moment later, a blonde elf appeared. He looked at Dinin, then at Lokewen.
"Are you hurt, Lokewen?" He asked calmly. She shook her head.
"He would not harm me." She lied, hoping to save Dinin's life by this. The elf nodded and gingerly picked up the dark elf and carried him into the dungeon. He set him down on a comfortable bed and left.
Lokewen stared at Dinin, then turned and walked away.

Dinin jerked up, then gasped in agony as his ribs cracked a bit more at the sudden movement. He gripped his ribs and his eyes tightened closed. He put on hand to his forehead and gripped it, trying to get the pain to go away. He fell back into a laying position.
"Darn you, Killisar. This is all your fault." He thought out loud.
"Who's Killisar?" Lokewen asked from beside him. He jerked his head toward her and growled.
He glared at her. "Liar." He said angrily. She seemed hurt by his words.
"I... I'm sorry. But I wasn't ready."
"I was! I have to get out of this wretched place! It's driving me insane! My eyes are blinded every day by the sun, my clothes are burning by the second and soon will be ash, and I am being forced to teach all of my magic to a lying wench!" He screamed. She stared at him, then looked at the ground.
"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. But..." She stood up and looked at him. "I can't let you leave now. I'm sorry." She said again. He just glared at her.
He stood up and immediately grabbed his ribs in pain. He leaned against a hand on a wall as he leaned over. He spat out blood on the stone floor and suddenly vomited.
He clasped his hand against his mouth and closed his eyes tight.
He cursed. "And now it's making me sick." He murmured. He looked at her with fury. "Get me out of here!" He yelled furiously. She stared at him in concern.
"But... you're hurt." She said slowly. He glared at her.
"If I stay here, with your people, I'll die! Do you not understand?!" He cried. She stared at him in horror.
"Why?!" She cried.
"I can't live here! I can't! I won't! I-" He coughed up blood again. He fell to his hands and knees and gasped for breath. His white hair was surrounding his dark blackish blueish face. He coughed again, wrenching. He clasped his hand over his heart and his eyes snapped shut. He breathed deep.
"Dark Elf!" She cried. He still hadn't revealed his name. She grabbed the keys from the guard and unlocked the door. She ran in to his side. "Dark Elf, what's wrong?!" She cried. He looked up at her, shaking.
"Get me... OUT OF HERE!!!!" He screamed through a bloodied mouth. She looked at him slowly, then nodded.
"Guard! Leave us!" She cried. The guard didn't move. He turned and began to walk into the cell. She immediately cried out a spell and he was struck by lightning. The elf fell to the floor in pain, and slowly stopped moving. She stared at the dead elf and tears poured loose. She helped Dinin up and began to help him walk to the front door.
She cried out spells, striking down elves along the way.
She turned the corner-
Yieleriel was standing there. She froze. Yieleriel was her fiance. He stared at her with pleading eyes.
"Don't do this." He begged. She looked at Dinin and then back at Yieleriel.
"He can't live here." She began.
"He'll die here!" Yieleriel cried.
"Why?! What has he done to us?! All that he ever did was come into the forest! Yieleriel, he has done nothing!" She cried.
The elf shook his head. "He is a dark elf." He murmured. "Lokewen, my love. Come here. Come stand beside me. Let me destroy this dark elf." He pleaded. Lokewen stared at him in horror.
She looked at Dinin, who looked oblivious to the situation because he was half unconscious.
"But he's already dying! We can't just kill him! He has done nothing! It isn't the way of our race!"
"It is the way of theirs! It's what they deserve!"
"How can you know that?! Yieleriel, he is the first dark elf you have ever met! And he has done nothing to you but defend himself against us!" She shook her head. "I... I cannot allow you to hurt this man. It goes against everything I have ever learned." She said sadly.
Yieleriel stared at her as the world around him crashed down. His eyes were full of sorrow and anguish.
"Lokewen-"
"You have my decision. What is yours?" She asked. Yieleriel could say nothing. He had learned his entire life that Dark Elves were supposed to be killed whenever possible. Yet, here was the woman he loved, and she was asking him to help the dark elf escape!
He stared at her. "I have learned that I am supposed to destroy the dark elf plague... and you want me to go against my teachers?! Against the council?! Lokewen, how could you?!" He cried. Lokewen set Dinin down and walked over to Yieleriel.
"Yieleriel, my fiance. I am asking you to do what is right. If what is right, is against the council and against your teachers, who do you think is in the wrong here?" She asked seriously, her face also showing sorrow and agony.
He put his hand to her cheek. "Lokewen... how do you know this is right? Maybe he is a spy, sent to get in here to see how many of us there are. And if he is set free he'll go back to Menzoberranzan and they will attack us." He said. Dinin twitched.
"Menz... oberranzan... is dead." He murmured. He grabbed hold of the wall and stood up slowly. He glared at the elf. "Menzoberranzan, has been destroyed." He said. "Destroyed by dragons." He said furiously. His glare increased. "Speak of it again, and I'll kill you." He threatened. Yieleriel stared at Dinin, wondering if he was sincere. He decided he was as sincere as they came, and smiled.
He looked at Lokewen and kissed her. "Lokewen, I will help you." He said. Lokewen gasped with joy and threw her arms around his neck with a cry of excitement.
"Thank you." She whispered in his ear. He smiled and watched Dinin cautiously.
"Let's go, Dark Elf. The sooner your gone, the better." He said. Dinin smirked.
"That eager to get rid of me?" He said as he walked by him, blood oozing from his mouth. He remembered the curses that were put on him by his mother.
He had three of them, one of them was to be under his control when she wanted, which had been broken when she was slain by a dragon and would have been passed onto Briza, but Briza was dead too. The second was that he could not leave Menzoberranzan by his own, and if he did he would be cursed with the deadliest illnesses. The third, he could not share anything about his passed with anyone except the Do'Urden's. That one was for protection, her thinking him a traitor. He didn't mind that one, since he was no traitor. But the second was affecting him now and he still had three more illnesses to go.
He had to get out of here and get back to the dead city. He couldn't stay out here any longer.
He pushed open the doors and walked out into the sun. He winced and shielded his eyes from the sun. His hand clasped over his mouth as he coughed up more blood. He spat it out and shook the blood from his hand and ran toward the woods on the opposite side of the courtyard. Lokewen hurried by him to stop any elves that would try to stop them as Yieleriel took the back.
Dinin held his swords in case of any close range attacks. Suddenly, an arrow came out from the wall and Dinin leapt toward it, it going right toward Yieleriel's back. Dinin held up his swords and it relfected off of the magic blade and went back toward the elf. He growled angrily.
"Watch yourself." He said angrily as he turned and continued running. Yieleriel stared at him with surprise, he had just saved his life. He smiled, then followed.
Arrows started to soar around them. Dinin worked on deflecting them as Lokewen and Yieleriel worked on knocking out the elves firing them. Yieleriel smiled at Lokewen during one of his spells and Lokewen flashed a smile back.
Lokewen pulled out her own bow and arrow and began firing, sending them through the small cracks into the elves. She winced after each arrow hit and a tear fell from her eye. Dinin watched her out of the corner of his eye as he kept deflecting. She was so weak, so caring. It was relieving to see. He saw an arrow fly toward her blind spot. It was too close for him to block. He was about to cry out when she saw it. She didn't have time to move, but was suddenly flung away by an invisible force. The arrow flew toward Yieleriel. Dinin reached out with his sword, trying to deflect it, but it was too fast and flew right by. He cried out for Yieleriel to move but it was too late.
The arrow pierced the elf's chest. Dinin heard Lokewen gasp.
"Yieleriel!" She cried as she ran toward her fiance. Arrows flew everywhere to her and Dinin looked at her sadly. She was just about to make it when Yieleriel cried out for her to stop.
"Go! Help the dark elf!" He cried. Dinin stared at him. He indeed was a brave tree elf. He frowned. It was strangely sad.
"Lokewen, stay. I can make it the rest of the way." Dinin said. Lokewen stared at Dinin, then jerked her head back at Yieleriel.
"I can't leave you." She sobbed. Yieleriel grabbed her hand as she tried to heal him.
"You don't have time." He gasped. Another arrow pierced him and he cried out in pain. "Go with him, leave this place. It has become disturbed by the dark elf's presence. If you don't go, they'll kill you." He said quickly. "Lokewen, go. Hurry. Go with him." He looked at Dinin. "Protect her, dark elf." He said with a threatening voice. Dinin stared at him, then nodded before he could stop himself. Dinin was still deflecting arrows.
"I can't... You'll die." She sobbed.
"Lokewen, please. Go. I don't want you to die either. If you stay to heal me, we'll both die." He gripped her hand and kissed it. "I love you." He whispered. She shook her head.
"No! I can't-"
Dinin grabbed her and began to pull her away.
"No! Let me go! Please! No, Yieleriel! No!!!!" She cried as she desperately tried to get away. "Dark Elf, release me!" She begged him. Dinin continued to carry her away. "YIELERIEL!!!!" She screamed as Dinin pulled her out the gates.
Yieleriel watched her go and closed his eyes.
Elves surrounded him in seconds.
"Yieleriel, we sentence you to death for help in the escape of the dark elf prisoner." Said a council member. He smiled weakly. Suddenly, a spear dug into his gut and he breathed his last breath.
