Today started out normal and nice. We went to the mall and Evan got me a used copy of Star Ocean 3. Since that's a PS2 game, we needed to get our system back from Evan's little brother Aaron. Because of the accumulation of dead faeries in his room, the system had a bit of a dust problem.
We get it home and hook it up. Doesn't work. I clean the disc. Doesn't work. We had one of those air cans, so he sprays it. Doesn't work. Evan pulls it apart, uses the air can, puts it back together. Kinda works. It took a while to load all the games, but not SO3, nor our Action Replay Max.
We debated for awhile, then decided that since Evan's been getting good checks (I cannot stress this guys, get a trucking licsense! Evan's paycheck yesterday was $1,100! O_O)
So he went to Walmart, got the new one, and brought it home, hooked it up, and it ran beautifully...except for the Action Replay Max. We had the Max disc, but the regular AR card. We hemmed and hawwed for a bit then decided to go get a new Max with card.
Toys 'R' Us didn't have it so we had to go to Circuit City, next town over (Palmdale). They had what we needed (huzzah!) and we leave. It was about 8:00 around this time, and as Evan is pulling out...the car stalls. The few times the engine turned over, it made a horrible clanking noise and the car would die everytime he put it in gear. So he had to call to get it towed, and his mom so she could come take me and Small Thing home.
The guy showed up around 8:45 (Barbara had gotten there around 8:20 and we waited with Evan until the guy showed up) and we left.

Got home about 9ish, gave Small Thing a sandwich for dinner (poor thing, her normal dinnertime is at 7 sweatdrop ) and waited for Evan to get home.
So now we are without a car, have to wait until Monday for Evan (who will be at work) to call his fave fixit shop, have them tow the car, check it out, then call me at home and give me an estimate on what's wrong and how much it'll cost to fix it. Evan's pretty sure that his dad Jim will let us use one of his cars though until we've gotten ours back.

That...is how my day has been, but at least the new AR Max works, and tomorrow I'll finally be able to play my new game.
