A man, living on the edge of town, out in his yard, doing yardwork in the sun shine, when he heard a groan, coming from the woods. He looked around, but saw no one. He heard the groan again, but this time, he saw a man stumble out of the woods, he held his shovel tightly. The man, looked sick, and maybe malnourished.
"oohhhh, foooood" he moaned. "foooooooood"
"are you ok?!" said Frank, he stepped closer to the man, "i'll get you some water" he rushed to the picknick table, and grabbed the pitcher of ice water he had been drinking from. The man from the woods, was now stumbling across towards Frank. "here ya go man, drink up" he said holding the pitcher to the man.
He looked at the pitcher, and then his eyes moved to Frank's hand, and then, his arm. He saw the warm flesh, and the veins sticking up from his muscular arms. He reached for the pitcher, but at the last second, he lurched towards Frank, grabbed his arm, and sunk his teeth in.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" Frank screamed "GET OFF!!" he dropped the pitcher as his muscles and tendons were severed. He raised his hand and brought down his fist across the back of the crazed man's skull. He lost his grip on Frank's arm, and dropped to the ground.
Frank was bleeding, badly. He ran across the yard, and grabbed up his shovel. The man was now back to his feet, moving towards Frank with growing speed. Frank did his best to hold the shovel with both hands, as he swung it at the man. It met the base of his skull with a sickening clang.
The man dropped to the ground like a bag of wet oatmeal. Frank, dropped the shovel and ran into his house and went for the phone. All lines were busy, he looked at the clock, it said 11:14am. He went into the bathroom, and grabbed some gause, and an ace bandage. He quickly wrapped his arm. The fingers on his hand, hung lifelessly. He went backoutside, and looked down the road, he saw more people stumbling down the road coming his way.
