“Hello son.” he said quietly. He looked much different. There was a scar going down his left eye and to the bottom of his neck. His hair was turning gray, mostly just above his forehead. He wore long black pants like mine, but had yellow slash lines on them. His shirt was sleeveless, and zippered up. He had a cape that hung far down to the center of his back. It was all torn and jagged…but it was something that suited him. Under the cape was the hilt of his huge two handed sword, the Flame Tongue.
“Dad…you leave me an mom, come after my friends, and attack my teacher!” I shouted to him, “What kind of a father are you!?”
“I’ve done everything for your sake Michael…from leaving your mom, to teaching this woman a lesson.”
I snapped. I lunged at him shouting at the top of my lungs. I smashed my blade into the ground where he was standing, then started swinging like mad. Every attack he dodged. The ones that almost hit him, his cape wrapped around and moved my blade. It was obvious he had control over the cape. Not once did he draw the huge blade that was on his back. I finally managed to make a small slice in his side. That’s when he spun, his cape slamming into me and sending me flying into the air. He drew his blade, but it wasn’t on fire, then jumped up at me. I blocked as many slashes as I could with my blade and right arm, but when I hit the ground, blood erupted from my sides through little cuts. I collapsed to my knee, panting hard as I grabbed my sides in pain. That’s when Teacher jumped in.
Her attacks were faster than mine, but my dad’s were still faster. Even though she had only had automail for a while, she still used it as well as if it were her own arm. I saw a flash of blood and she hit the ground, He had torn her side open. She sat there on her back and took a swing at him with her sword. He knocked it away and pulled his sword up, preparing for the finishing blow. That’s when an explosion of black flames sent him flying backwards through a tree. I stood there, my right hand extending and open, the black aura of my curse emitting around it.
“Touch her again…and you’ll be sorry…father…” I panted out. The bleeding had stopped, since I had healed it with elven magic. I walked over to Teacher and healed her.
“Mike what the Hell was that!” she demanded out of me.
“My curse, now get out of here before it hits you. I don’t have much control over it.”
She paused for a moment, then nodded and ran off into the house. At that moment my father rose up from under the destroyed tree. “So then it was you who destroyed the tower…now we can confirm it.
“We? You mean you’re with the Federation?”
“Of coarse…they gave me the power I needed to protect you.”
“Protect me? PROTECT ME! How are you protecting me now when you’re attacking me!”
“I’m protecting you from yourself.” At that moment he started to transform. I watched as his body turned black and scaly, then grew to enormous sizes. in front of my eyes, he had turned into a huge black dragon that had red eyes.
“Now son…I know you’re a druid and you can take polymorphs of animals,” he said telepathically, “so lets see if you take this Red Eyes Black Dragon polymorph.”
“I can do that and then some!” I started to transform into my wolf form when the keyblade flashed before me. It altered my wolf form into what I know now is the Sacred Wolf form. I was black with a white stomach and had symbols in the fur on top of my head. The fir behind my head came back in locks, and I looked awesome that I thought possible. On top of that, I felt my muscles surge with strength. Now I knew that the Dark Demon Slayer Keyblade was given to me to fight evil. But why would my father have given it to me anyways.
“Heh, I should have kept that blade or destroyed it.” He said with a snarl.
“Destroy this.” I said, I lunged at him and landed on his thigh. Though he was tall, I was still able to jump up him. He was small for a dragon, but fast. I jumped up his arm and landed on his back, then chomped down on the back of his neck. He roared in pain, then snapped his tail at me to knock me off, but I jumped off just in time. When I landed I looked up at him and saw a huge fireball coming down at me. I barely dodged it, but got hit by his tail. I turned back into a human and slid across the ground. That’s when he started sniffing the air.
“Hmm…I smell that Mayuno girl and Roxas.” he said, his voice echoing in my mind of the vileness in his voice. I pressed the button on my watch to call Fenrir, my motorbike. “I’m sure a little snack wouldn’t hurt right about now.
“If you’re going to protect me you should leave my friends alone!” I shouted to him, “That’s the only thing keeping me from turning to the darkness!”
“But the darkness is what will protect you.” With that, he took off towards the city. I ran back towards the house, shouting for Teacher. Before I knew it she was next to me.
“I need your help.” I said, running to the front of the mansion.
“The apprentice leading the teacher. Talk about ironic.”
“No time for jokes, he’s going after my friends.” She didn’t say a word. When we reached the front of the house the Fenrir pulled up. I jumped on as Teacher did the same. I took off towards the city, leaving a trail of dust behind us. I had the Fenrir gaining speeds I thought never existed. In the distance I could see my dad sailing into the city. I punched it, and the race was on.
In a few minutes I was closer and already in the city. He was a few hundred yards in front of us, but still, not within striking range. He turned onto his back and I saw his mouth glowing.
“Teacher, take the wheel!” I shouted, jumping onto the front of the bike as she slid forward. “Just keep it steady!” I drew my keyblade and prepared for a strike. He fired a glowing red ball of energy at me. I swung at it with my keyblade, and at the moment of contact, it reflected into a wall. He started flying straight again. In another few moments he turned back around and got lower to the ground before firing. I swung again, and shot it just above his head, causing him to roar at me. I realized that depending on how I hit it, it would reflect in another direction. He fired another one, but it was off to the side where I couldn’t reach. When it hit, it exploded, and almost knocked us off the road. I bent down and pressed a switch near the steering, causing the sides to fling out like wings. He fired again at the side, but I ran on the side and deflected it into him.
He hung in the air, red energy shocking his whole body. Teacher gunned it and I jumped off onto him. I landed on the back of his neck and tried to stab him, but my blade sparked off of his tough hide. I kept slashing till he regained control and spun, sending me flying. I landed back on the top of the bike, and we kept with him as he continued to fly farther. Just then I noticed that a hundred yards away was Miome and Mayuno. Like each other, they were too involved talking to each other to notice a dragon not far behind them. He was closing in, and we couldn’t go any faster.
I went to the tip of the bike and used all of my strength to jump off of it, soaring at my father. I grabbed onto his tail, but he swung it, sending me towards the ground right in front of the Nagakuras.
“Mike! Are you ok!?” they shouted at the same time.
“Get outta here!” I screamed at them, “He’s coming this way! Hur-” But my warning was too slow. Before I could say anything else, his foot landed on me, and he reached down and grabbed the Nagakuras in his hands before taking off to a tall, circular skyscraper that was across the street. He flew too the top, and in my mind, I heard his maniacal laughter. I felt the fire inside of me, but I held it back. In doing so, the darkness took over my body and turned me into my Anti-Form, Shadow. I had some control, and I took off at the skyscraper on all fours. I ran up it as if I was running on the ground. I reached the top and saw that the Nagakura’s were wrapped up in darkness. Their mouths were covered so they couldn’t talk. My father was at the edge of the skyscraper.
I immediately took off at him, but he backed away, hoping I would stop at the edge. I didn’t. Instead I lunged off the edge and landed on him, before slamming my fists rapidly into his chest. He went to grab me, but I jumped off his hand and punched him in the face. He snapped at me, but I dodged it and punched him in the nose. He took another swing, but I jumped off the back of his hand and threw my hands forward, dark coils slamming into him, knocking him back. He got angered, and spun around, slamming me into the top of the skyscraper, leaving a long trail of destroyed concrete on the roof as my Anti-Form wore off.
I got to my feet and looked at him as he landed and turned into a human.
“It is obvious you can’t take my dragon form,” he said as he changed into a human, “so I’ll test your skills.” He drew his blade. I saw him touch the bottom of the hilt, and it lit on fire. The fire made the blade bigger and longer. This was going to be something I wouldn’t hold anything back on.
I charged at him, summoning my keyblade and scrapping it across the ground to create sparks. I waved my left hand from the sparks to the side of my body, using alchemy to create a wall of fire. I jumped through the flames, swinging my blade down from above my head in the process. Somehow, he blocked my attack. The sparks that were created flashed, and I jumped off his hand as they exploded. He had used alchemy. As I slid on the ground, he threw his blade at me. I caught it and dashed right at him, I swung my blades in a cross slash, and he stopped both blades with his palms. He hadn’t flinched or anything, just stopped them with his bare hands. He grabbed his blade, but before he could hit me, I swung my keyblade at him, slicing his shirt open. When I landed, it showed a transmutation circle.
“It’s a circle of manipulating metal!” I shouted to him, “Your arms aren’t automail, how did you block my attack!”
“I used the iron in my blood and made it collect in my palms. That way your attack couldn’t hurt me.” I was stunned. Wouldn’t that have been human transmutation? I didn’t care…I wanted him dead.
I blocked multiple attacks from him, then took one quick swing as he kicked me in the ribs, sending me flying.
“Your attacks are too slow to hit me.” he said smiling.
“I wasn’t aiming for you.”
At that point he heard the sound as the bottom of his hilt hit the ground, and the flames on his sword disappeared.
“I noticed that you touched the bottom of your sword. That let you start the transmutation. You just kept the transmutation going.”
“Ah, as perceptive as your dad.”
I used the Wind Scar to distract him, and when he jumped into he air, I flew forward. I went to attack him from beneath, but he stepped on the blade and kicked the back of my head, sending me off the edge of the skyscraper.
He landed laughing, but as he turned around, I pulled myself up from the edge and stabbed my blade through him. He stood their stunned for a moment, but began to laugh. He started to transform, but I absorbed his polymorph from him. Somehow, he still transformed into his dragon. I turned into one, and almost passed out from the energy cost of it. I was smaller than him, but quicker. I flew at him and chomped onto his neck while grabbing his hands. We fell to the ground, but before we hit, I positioned myself on top of him and kicked him into the ground. I flew back to the top of the skyscraper, but he came up behind me and slammed me into it, causing me to de-morph. I slowly stood up.
“Ha ha ha, you can’t defeat me!” he shouted, “Give into fate and join the darkness like I did!”
“I pressed the armor button on my watch, shouting “NEVER!” to him. My Ray armor came on me, and he looked at me stunned.
“It…it was you who killed the Boss.” he said, his faced stunned. His expression then turned to rage. “You’ll pay for that.
I pulled my gun out and pumped shots into him, sending him to the edge of the skyscraper. A small blue orb fell out of his coat.
“No, not that!” he shouted, running for it. I shot him back, then shot it. There was a small, futuristic cannon hovering in the air. I grabbed at it with my right hand, when it glowed. My arm glowed, and in a second, the cannon had fused to my arm. I thought about it going away, and it did. I check my systems, and it was called a “Chozo Power beam.” Apparently it’s from another dimension, and the beam has infinite ammo. It’s controlled by the way I move my fingers. Different sign my hand makes, different beam I use, but the beams must be acquired first. I guess the Federation had used the Gate to Kingdom Hearts to steal weapons from other worlds. I put it back on and fired a shot. A small orb of energy fired out. I fired as fast as I could, and it fired as fast as my Rayfall gun. I held the Rayfall in my left hand and aim both weapons at my father before firing. He fell off the skyscraper, and as I ran up to look over, I saw his cape engulf him and carry him away in the air.
I turned off my armor and ran to the Nagakuras. I swung my keyblade down at the coils and sliced them off. They ran up to me and hugged me.
“Oh my god Mike thanks for saving us!” they screamed in my ear.
“Who was that anyways?” Mayuno asked.
“My father.”
Miome on the other hand, had a different question.
“You’re Zero!?”
“Yeah, always have been.” She hit me.
After I put my armor back on and flew them home, we talked. I know had a dragon polymorph, a Sacred Wolf polymorph, and a new weapon. We talked about Teacher, my attacks, and all other stuff we hadn’t gotten the chance to talk about. It was getting late so I walked home. When I got there, Teacher had parked in front of my door. She was waiting for me.
“Got away again, huh.” she said.
“Yeah.” We stood there quietly for a moment.
“You know for a woman to walk back home in the darkness is dangerous.” she said, crossing her arms and smiling at me slightly.
“Oh, ok then.” I hoped on the bike and gave her a ride home. I dropped her off and was about to head home when she said “Don’t worry Mike, you’ll find him.”
“Thanks teacher.”
“Please, call me Jenn” I was shocked. I never knew her first name until now.
“Ok…Jenn.” I said smiling. With that I rode home as she waved at me. On the way back, I wondered where my dad was. He seemed different, but now it was time to settle the score with him. To beat him, I’d have to beat his dragon polymorph. The idea of that loomed over me. Then my mind turned to my top priority: Calista. I had to bring her back. Now, I had a lot of weight on my shoulders, but I couldn’t do anything about either of those problems at the moment.
I got home and parked Fenrir in the garage. As I opened the door, I saw a flash, and my wall burst open. My father stepped out of it.
“What, didn’t get beat enough!?” I shouted at him, jumping back.
“No…it’s just that you must now suffer for harming your own father.” he said, his voice emotionless.
“Well then you should pay for what you did to my life!” I said, dashing at him as I transmuted my arm into a blade. I swung it at him, a dead on hit to his head…but at the very last second, my blade an inch from his forehead, he dodged it…without getting touched by the blade.
“…this arm controls your darkness…” he said, grabbing my right arm as I was stunned by his speed, “then I must do this to free that darkness.” After he said that my arm flashed.
In alchemy, there are three steps before you can complete a transmutation: Analysis, Deconstruction, and Reconstruction. He stopped at step two.
Before my eyes, my entire right arm up to my shoulder shattered into it’s mechanical parts. An arm that was made by a dead friend, who gave it to me if I ever needed it, gone in a flash.
I fell to the ground, grasping the shoulder where I once had an automail arm. “You b*****d!” I shouted at him, but he had already left. The darkness tried to unleash itself, but I picked up a hunk of a screw and cut open my right shoulder, just above the automail attachment. I dabbed my hand in the blood and quickly used it to created the DarkFire seal, sealing it into my shoulder. My control was limited now, I could only use alchemy with a circle, and my fighting skills dwindled low. I had only one arm.
I sat there, sobbing for a few minutes. Now Calista couldn’t come back. I didn’t have enough power to bring her back. Roxas came running up to me and helped me into the house. He tried to talk to me, but I couldn’t answer. I was too overwhelmed.
Hours past, and it was early morning now…there was no automail mechanics in the city that would repair my arm. I hit the button on my watch to go into my Ray armor, but it could only activate itself for most of my body. The place where my arm used to be was now covered by a plate. I had come this far…and now all hope…was gone…

The cold silence of space only punctuates the feeling of death that emanates from this virtuously lifeless planet.
Only one thing is alive and well here...evil. And it must be destroyed, decimated, exterminated.
But first, it must be found...
