Rose Listening to Nari, the Pixie

"I am listening!" Rose said, annoyed that Nari hadn't realized this yet. "Tell you what. When I say 'ya' when you try to say something to me, how about considering that as a 'yes, go on' rather than a 'ya, whatever' as you seem to think it means." The pixie had indeed been ignoring Rose's responses.

"Oh!" said Nari. However, as Pixies were quite full of their self-worth and such, she didn't quite get the insult in Rose's words. "Great. I need to tell you something somewhere where... it can't hear me."

Rose raised one eyebrow. "It?"

Nari lowered her voice. "The computer. It knows my language, and what I have to tell you is for you alone."

Rose sighed. "I don't know if there is anywhere like that on this entire ship."

"Well, can't you create a sound shield of air?" asked the pixie.

Rose looked surprised. "Huh. I guess I can." she said. She hadn't thought of that option before, but air could be thick enough not to hear through. "But we'll have only a few minutes before I will have to take down the shield, or we'll run out of air."

The pixie nodded- or sneezed; it was hard to tell which, but Rose took it as a yes. So Rose pulled out her wand and manipulated the air around them to harden until it was as solid as glass, and she couldn't hear a sound from outside it.

"Okay. What do you need to say that's so important?" Rose asked.

"Well, your grandmother sent me to you, to make sure you don't get hurt." Nari explained. Rose groaned. Nari continued. "And to make sure that you find all your other ancestors, as well."

Rose rubbed her face with her hand. She was starting to get a headache. "Look." she said through her hand she was trying to rub pain out of her forehead with. "I already found my fahter's demonic relatives, and now my mother's fairy relatives. Neither was the happy family reunion I could have hoped for, nor do I feel safe near either of them. What makes you think I want to visit the others?"

The pixie shook her head. "Not want. Must. You must go visit them. Soon."

Rose sighed. Nari was going to be a pain for some time, it seemed. "Can't go yet. I promised Dragon I would help her, and I will. After that, we will talk more about this. Until then, please don't bother me with it, all right?" Rose asked.

Nari smiled- though Rose couldn't see it- and agreed with a short "Yes."

Rose loosened the air shield, and turned to Nari once more. "One more thing. Don't be annoyingly noisy, or I will find a sound-proof jar to store you in." Rose did not need pixie-caused headaches. Not on top of everything else. Now, more than ever, she wished she had her ship back.

Taran and Xangord on Board

As Taran looked at the odd being, and felt a wind rush past him, and a second later, the same wind, in the opposite direction. He heard n** call out from the cockpit for him to see to Xangord after grabbing the odd creature.

Taran scooped up the happy little creature, and ran back inside the Dragonfly. He closed the ramp before running up to the medical room, and dropping the beast on a couch out in the common room right outside it.

He hurried into the medical room and closed the door behind him. Xangord was indeed laying on the exam table, and she seemed to be conscious... barely. She was also bleeding profusely.

"Xangord?" Taran said, trying to get her attention, trying to keep her awake. "What happened?" he asked. He wasn't about to concern himself overly with that at this point; he already had a thought about what happened in general, and where Xink was. But he wanted her to respond. He was already gathering surgical supplies from a few cupboards, but he wanted her conscious if possible. She had lost a lot of blood.
