Gaia decided it was best this entry didn't make it. The last time I tried to post this, it flipped out on me and made sure it didn't come to fruition. But NEH! I persist, and shall triumph because of my incessant nagging. So, sorry to those of you who I told I'd make a new entry soon-ish, but now I've gatehred and mustered the energy and motivation to write something out. Plus even more stuff to talk about! Awesome.
First off, let's get started with some minor corrections. Jazz was the one that got his a** handed to him by Megatron; I thought it was Bumblebee when I first saw the trailers, but after I saw the movie... yeah. On that note, the movie was kickass. I joygasmed several times over. Admittedly, I didn't like the human factor (as always)... it just ruined and almost made me lose general interest in the giant robots making war in the background. I hate that about Transformers. They always have to put in a small group of young people or whatever to counter-balance the giant robot mayhem and find sad excuses for plot devices. Seriously, if they had just done a prequel to this movie before they got to earth (like the comic book and the novel!), then it'd be hella more interesting. But that's okay, because I still loved it hardcore. Optimus Prime was a badass. Tumbling and tussling on the freeways like that, and jamming his machette into the bad guy's face... awesome-- for the record, Optimus Prime in the old movie had a big laser axe thing, which was modified to a kickass machette in this movie-- most people don't know that, apparently. And Starscream was also very cool... much more so than I was expecting. Not to mention he was the last Decepticon to make it out. With a sequel already well on the way, I totally bet they're gonna make a move for Galvetron in the next one. There's even a Unicron concept going around the internet; had I the picture on hand right now, I'd share it, but you'll have to take my word for it when I say he's going to cause all kinds of hell. The biggest downfall of the movie was that they left out Arcee (the chick transformer). They wanted to in the preliminary planning for the movie, and even had her in the prequel books, but they decided not to ahve her in the movie simply for gender reasons (how transformers' general origins don't allow for actual genders and whatever). Kinda lame, but they still made a toy of her. I'm no technophile, but I'd hit it. D;
After that, I went to go see Harry Potter some time later... the latest movie whatsitcalled. The greatest thing about it is the sheer darkness of it. Everything's getting more violent and more people are dying, and Voldemort is one wicked sumbitch. I never read the books beyond the first's second chapter due to extreme boredom, so I wouldn't know any key differences between it and the texts. My friends that I went with who did read it though were bitching about it the whole time ('That's not how it happened in the book!' 'This character didn't get as much attention in the movie!' 'They left out that important part!'). Who gives a crap? Not me. I went to see the eyecandy, and that's about it. The concept of the Harry Potter universe is a very well developed and epic thing, and that's all the reason I need to buy a ticket. And my, the eyecandy was glorious. While the fights in the movie were few, the fights that did happen between Deatheaters and our heroes was very awesome. And Voldemort versus Dumbledore was one of the greatest moments in all of the movies so far. Unfortunately, the rest of the flick was kinda dull; even if it was darker and less child-friendly, it was just plain boring what with all this pissing and moaning about Harry's problems and the school's new darka rts teacher (who made me laugh several times over). Blah blah blah. I wouldn't see it again in theaters, but it was still pretty choice. I just want to see what'll happen in the next one-- which almost makes me want to actually try reading the books again.
Finally, movie-wise, I went to see Simpsons on the midnight premiere at my local theater with my older brother (the fanboy) and my friend (the stoner). At first I was expecting it to be just one big long episode that had quirky moments and some lackluster plot to go with the sillyness that is Springfield. And then after I saw some trailers, I started putting together my own plot; maybe like Springfield was secretly transported by those alien guys to some other planet and they all get caught up in some giant conspiracy about it with Mr. Burns and Quimby and some of the key characters that eventually leads back to the Simpsons family and saves the day with comedic flavor. Of course, none of that plot stuff happened, and I was actually intrigued by the story in that they actually did some stuff never done before in the show. I wish some parts were a bit more developed, but I'm honestly not complaining. I didn't laugh the whole way like my friends did, but it got me to chuckle quite a bit. And BART'S TESTICLES were on the screen, and that just made everyone laugh; it really caught everyone off-guard since they censor stuff like that on TV with clever tricks of person and object placement... that was really good, and-- pardon me for sounding like a *****-- the highlight of the movie.
Anyway, enough of that. I think I've established long ago that I'm a movie-going nerd who does too little else to really speak of. In contrast to that statement, I did go to a little soiree the other day with my friend and his girlfriend. A pool party, to be precise, to that of a person I sorta know but can't really call a friend just yet-- we barely talk and didn't even hug or anything. It got off to a pretty slow start once we got there, as none of us really knew the others too well. There was Little Ceaser's around (really gross pizza that no one should buy anymore), so we just hopped over to Pizza Hut for some real good pizza pie... I guess her parents wanted to be cost-effective or whatever. Anyway, it wasn't a big party... maybe ten people tops were there; still bigger than most social functions I go to that wasn't a LAN party, anyway. We warmed up to one another a bit more when we got to the pool. Swam around, mostly... didn't play any games if I can remember correctly, and just kinda drifted around talking to one another about random stuff. After it started getting a little cold, we decided to jump around on the trampoline, and soon after play some truth or dare (which was actually pretty much dare) after the birthday girl's folks had left. On the fly, none of us could think of a really good dare. All I really had to do was put on this chick's clothes and kiss my friend (who is a guy hurhur). Strangely enough, during the fact, I was becoming more friendly with the chick whose clothes I was wearing (I know, creepy), and went about with the casual flirting until it started to get dark. After it did get dark, we went swimming again, and bounced on the trampolines. It got to be around nine-ish, I suppose, when we started playing spin the bottle, and I think I finally grasped my kissing style within the mouths of various girls (seriously, there was like three guys the whole time, and I got the most attention-- willingly, anyway). After that, they mingled, some people started to leave, and I went to the trampoline with that one chick. We jumped around and finally just laid back for a while, snuggling and talking about stuff. I couldn't muster the nerve to start making out with her out of the blue, even if I know that's what she wanted to do. Can't help it, I'm just a pansy to that effect. Unfortunately, before I leave, I found out this chick (who I actually have a lot of similar interests with) lives about two hours away from my house, making it impossible for her to come visit any time soon so we could see where the little flirtations and such would lead. All I've got is her myspace name, and the knowledge that I'll see her next year. Guess I have to get a myspace now... don't really want to, but she's a really nice girl and I don't want to screw up any chances I might have of seeing her again. Not sure if I want to have a relationship-- especially since I fear it'd be more lust than anything-- but I just feel compelled to.
As far as being sociable is concerned, that's about it. This was about two weeks ago, if I remember correctly, and I haven't done much else since outside the norm since then. In the usual things that I do, however, there've been some changes. I wanna start doing art auctions, for instance. My ex (the art expert) finds out that I can draw pretty well (sort of), and tells me that if I colored and lined some of my pieces, I could make a cool mil pretty easily here, or even score some rare items (like those ports so I can finish my daft punk cosplay). Unfortunately, just as I had gotten that knowledge, maybe a day later, my tablet broke down on me. I've had it for a while, and I guess it was about due, but the timing was impecably bad. I haven't done anything really creative since then, aside from minor doodling in my efforts to draw female anatomy correctly. Haven't even made any new banners or anything in a while, since my tablet was basically my mouse. My replacement mouse was a crappy IBM that I found lying around the house using a Mario Paint (that's right, Mario Paint for the SNES) mousepad to even be able to use my computer at all. It's really annoying and really hard to get much done since it only works 2/3's of the time. But I am getting the tablet fixed (the wire replaced or something), so it should be a week or so before I get it back. If that doesn't work, I guess I'll just get a new one (with all my money!! yeah right x_x). I miss it, and am feeling my digital art creativity slipping out the window with each passing day. I'm struggling to hold on to it by reading tutorials and PSD's so I can be a little better when I get back, but I'unno. We'll just have to wait and see how it turns out. In the mean time, I've been playing command and conquer a bit more... though ever since the big game update that changed around character traits and stuff, none of my friends want to play me when I play as Scrin (the least affected of the 'nerf'). So I've been playing with NOD instead right now (nazi's), and am trying to get better at them so I can keep playing. If they b***h and moan about it after that though, gah I swear I'll kill 'em all. I can't help it if I got good at it! I didn't mean to! I promise!
Anyway, last thing. As few of you might know my grandparents celebrated their 60th anniversary last night, so we got to meet up with some relatives and make it a big nice day for them. First, my mom had to bake a cake (which she'd done maybe two days previous) from scratch. It was two-tiered, and it was awesome. Unfortunately, though, the weather didn't cooperate, so it melted quite a bit by the time it was finished and we shipped it to the restaurant we were going to eat at later in the evening. In the mean time, me and my brother (yeah right mostly just me) put together a present for my grandparents to enjoy, which was a pair of CD's with sticker labels of an old wedding photo on it with music from the 1940's for them (around the time they married). That turned out pretty cool, though the CD sticker label things I got were really tedious when using my dad's shitty old computer (the only one with a working printer at the moment), and it was a real pain to arrange the picture juuust right onto the CD. But it all worked out in the end, and I threw it in a gift bag and what-have-you. Aaaanyway, after we delivered the cake to the restaurant, we had to run back home to get ready for taking photo's at the mall with the entire family clan only to find that my older sister had screwed up stuff by showing up at our house totally not ready and screaming at my mom over some nonsense and almost making us really late (we were late, but not that late). We headed down to the mall (the big rich people mall with The Sharper Image and the Disney Store in it, not the crappy one I usually go to). We spent about an hour in various poses and groupings... they made me kneel for the longest time in the most uncomfortable of ways, for instance. After that, we scoured the mall while the pictures developed. Went into some stores, did some window-shopping, and basically wasted time. Headed back, and got the pictures (I don't even know or care which ones they picked out), and we headed to the restaurant. About the restaurant: it used to be called The Fish or something like that... something about boats or whatever. Anyway, recently, it got renovated into a place called The Rivue (River View harhar) and got all classy'd up with all this modern abstract stuff and menu full of weird crap I'd otherwise not eat if I didn't have to. I was scared to touch much of the food, it was so neatly decorated and stuff. Even the butter was on this expensive dish with swirls and grated cheese and stuff around it. We got split up into two different tables, and I got seated with the kids (surprise surprise) while the rest of the older folks talked about interesting things at the other table. Fortunately and unfortunately, my older sister got to sit at the kid's table too-- fortunate in that she suffered the same fate, but unfortunate that I had to suffer her wretched company. All the while, she was pissing and moaning about how she wanted to sit with the rest of the older people, and how she never got to have her way when she was in one of the city's most expensive restaurants basically eating from a golden ******** spoon. I was so ready to kill the b***h. Anyway, the night drew on, and the view outside was so lovely (the restaurant is at the 25th floor of a hotel, sitting on a big rotating platform so you can see the whole city), and there wasn't much else to do but look outside and drink water as the dinner was being prepared. I got some pork thing in dijon sauce... kinda gross, but not nearly as bad as it could've been. I just don't like dijon sauce, and I know that now (kinda like mustard). It got dark, and we enjoyed some cake. My other little sister then decided to go on a tangent about how she didn't want to be there to honor her grandparents, but to instead go out with her loser friends and make fools of themselves drinking and smoking just to fit in. That almost ruined the evening if everyone else wasn't busy making sure my grandparents were having the night of their old, old, old lives. We passed around gifts, and had a great time finding a way to take the cake home (since we forgot boxes), and it was plain great. I didn't get any champagne, but I'm not complaining. When I saw my grandparents dancing and stuff... I don't cry tears of joy very often, but it sure did feel good to see them happy like that. So despite a few bumps along the road, it was good fun, and we all went home happy, tired, and slightly drunk.
Anyway, that's about it, guys. So I'll have another entry in soon enough later. And thanks a big bunch to Becca (<3333) for motivating me to do this entry again.

This journal will be to let people know what my days are like, what music plays in my head, who in the world I hate, and my opinions on random garbage that half of the people on Gaia could care less about. :D.
