	omg it's my horrible attempt at a romance short story ><


It was a hot summer day in the middle of july. Candy left the house in a huff from the previous arguement with her parents. As she stormed out of the house she could feel the wind tosseling her long naturally bleach blonde hair around causeing it to knot. Tears welled up in her grey eyes as she recalls on the recent event. She was fighting with her mom about her finally getting out of the house and going to stay with her boyfriend until they got on their feet and found their own place to live. She couldnt stand her mother, but she realized where she got her attitude from. Her mother was an outstanding lawyer with hair like candy's and her father...well lets just say between her father and her mother it wasnt exactically a match made in heaven with his dirty habits and him being unemployed. She ran down the street with the tears now rolling down her cheeks smudging her eyeliner and making black lines from her eye's to her chin. "Why the hell is she so stubborn!?" she screamed inside her head."Sometimes i wish i wasnt born into this horrible family!!" She was so thankful that her boyfriend only lived a few blocks down from her. She met him a few months ago, just before school let out for summer vacation. She was in most of his classes and knew his name was toby but that was about it. Now toby was one of those guys that isnt into many of the activities that the school has to offer, so he just spent his lazy days after school doing as little homework as he could and do well enough in his classes to pass. Toby liked candy for quite a while and he'd see her walking down to her house after she got of the bus with him but he was really to shy to say anything to her. They finally started dating after he asked her if she was the girl that lived a few blocks away from him and that he was to shy to say anything about it. She just gave him a blank look like 'how the hell did he know where i lived?' and he through in the smoothest line he could think of at that moment "I was to shy to ask you cause i was stunned by your beauty..." At that moment a blush grew across her face as he offered his hand to her as a jesture to have the final dance at their graduation. Candy was now banging on toby's door praying he was home and that he would come to the door. A silent click came from the lock on the other side and the door slightly came open. It was toby's mother. She was a little woman. About 5'4 with brown curly hair and peircing green eyes. She looked at candy for a moment and closed the door to undo the chain lock and fully open the door. "Please, come in child your letting all the heat out." The little woman said quietly. "Is toby home?" Candy said completly out of breath and trying to stop herself from crying so hard. "No im sorry. But he should be home any minute. Feel free to wait in the family room for him." "Thank you." Candy choked with the final tear rolling down her cheek. "Would you like something to drink? Soda, Tea, Coffee?" "No. No thank you." Candy placed herself in the same place she sat when she first met toby's parents. On the sofa next to the phone. It was quite a while before toby actually got home from his job at the local shoe store. He threw his bag on floor and walked in on candy and his mom having a quiet conversation about the first time toby and her met. She glanced up at him. Toby stood about 5'11 with jet black hair and the peircing green eyes like his mother. He was wearing his work uniform from footlocker and had a look of slight suprise. Candy got up and ran over to him, giving him a long kiss and a hug. Candy stood to about his shoulders. "Toby! You love me dont you!?" Candy whispered as she held her beloved boyfriend close. "Of course why would you think anything less??" Toby said with utter devotion. "I dont know...i just needed to hear you say it..." Candy wimpered as she started to cry again. "It's going to be about dinner time at your house isnt it?" He said trying to change the topic. "I dont care im not going to go back to that whore's hell hole!" She protested. She jumped back and looked at toby's mother. She had forgotten that she doesnt allow that language in her household. "Oh im so sorry, i just for----" Candy was interupted. "It's okay child your angry, i can see that. I'll let it go this time." The little old lady said with the kindest of smiles it would just melt your heart. "Now toby dear take candy safely home and make sure your home for dinner." "Thank you so much." Candy said. Toby nodded and lead candy out the door and with a click, toby's mother closed it. He lead her down the street hand in hand and all candy could think about was how lucky she was to have toby and his little old mother that she could run to when things were as bad as they can get. They walked up the cement walkway leading to the frount door. When they got there toby just said that he had to hurry home and kissed her lightly on the forehead and gave her a big hug. He opened the door to candy's house and lightly whispered "Remember who was the one to shy to ask out the most beautiful girl at graduation and having it be the most wonderful thing happen to him." she looked down trying to hide the bright red blush that had grown across her face and just nodded and looked up at him and forgot the whole reason she went to go see him in the first place.
