After dinner I pulled out a bag that I've been keeping in my pack for awhile now. I showed it to Kagome, and she squeeled. "They'll all LOVE them!" she said. Now that the fire was going, and I gathered a few good-sized sticks, I was ready to present my suprise. "Hey, everyone! I've gots something for us! Its a special treat!" I pulled out the bag. "What are they?" Shippo asked. I smiled. "They're called MARSHMALLOWS!" I exclaimed. I put some on every stick, and explained how to toast them. InuYasha's was the first to be burnt. "WWWAAAGGHHH!" he shouted when his whole stick flared up. He dropped it into the fire. I couldn't stop laughing at his face. "What are YOU laughing at??" he asked. I tried to answer, but I was still laughing WAY too hard. Finally I choked out, "Your expression!" and burst out laughing again. "Feh. This is stupid! I can't believe I agreed to do this!" I calmed down enough to ask, "Do you mean toasting marshmallows or letting me stay with you?" InuYasha started hard at me. "Both." he said. I snorted. I knew that he'd have a hard time with the marshmallows, but he'd end up liking it once I helped him. And I was also used to people not wanting me around, and it never really hurt me before, until now. I felt my face droop a little when he said it. "Do you want me to leave?" I asked quietly. Kagome stared wide-eyed. Then she glared at InuYasha. She was about to say something, but then I stopped her. "No, Kagome. I'm SO used to it its not even funny. If he really wants me to leave, then I will." Kagome and I both watched InuYasha as he made his decision. Finally he said, "No. I don't. I want you to be with us. Its a lot more fun with you." My eyes widened. "REALLY?" I asked. He turned away. "You're suprised?" he said, a little suprised himself. I nodded. "Yep, I am. Now do you need some help with your stick?" He stared at me. Finally he nodded. I smiled, and I saw his face light up a little. I got another stick and set it up for him, giving out instructions as he went. At last he had a perfect marshmallow. I told him to eat it, but don't let it get in your hair, because its REALLY sticky. He began to eat it. He looked at me, suprised. "It's REALLY GOOD!" he said. I smiled. "Knew you'd like it." I said. He smiled. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Kagome and Sango share relieved looks. I knew that they were thinking about how InuYasha and I were talking again.
By the end of the night, we had eaten the whole bag.
