This is a Christian Country, God Bless America.
That's what was written on a man's car today, a giant sign mounted on top of his car with that message for everyone to see...

And then taped onto his car, like the cheap way to add decals to your car, he had possibly laminated strips of paper taped along the side and on his hood and window.... Taped onto one side was "You can help put the Bible back in our schools."

I've seen him before and i felt the same way, but not as strongly, i don't know why. I felt like the half of me that believes in American freedom so strongly was saying "That's perfectly fine, it's ok for him to do that" which is true.... and then the angry half that disagreed was flaring up at the first half and it was totally throwing me off, i felt so hot headed i didn't know what to think, i'd never felt like that before, it honestly scared me.

I was just a moment ago, pretending i was talking with him, i hope i can word it the same way, it sounded good in my head.

First, he asked me why i'm not Christian, and i went into my "I have a good life, a good family, good friends, good education, i have it all." which is true, i don't have the body i want, but without everything else that alone would kill me. SO i am happy for what i have... And i wasn't raised Christian, so i see no need to change things now, they're just fine the way they are.

You know me, i like to find those people i disagree with and befriend them, i don't know why. Wait yes i do for some reason i JUST figured it out XD It helps me believe that we can all some day coexist without conflict. That's why i befriend those i disagree with. Now of course there are limits but for the most part, i say it's doable.

We talked about ( is starting to forget, OH NO! ;-; ) I'll jump to the bible in our schools, cuz i do feel strongly about that. I agree with him, i want the bible put back in our schools, i want that, and any other religious texts, from all over the world. I don't want to tell our kids to believe in it, but i don't want to tell them not to, they can do what they want. I want to more than anything compare, study them all, similarities, differences, influences through out history, philosophical meaning.... I can't help but think that if we choose not to be afraid of them and what they might do, and accept them ALL it'll make it easier for the new generation to achieve that coexistence. What if they grew up learning about every religion, and how they're not so different from each other, they won't grow up with as many prejudices i would hope, they'll achieve what this generation and generations before it could not grasp.

i'm sitting here eating cookie dough now.... the same cookie dough that my professor claims is going to give him salmonella XD

Oh, we talked about God. He asked why i don't believe in him. Because in my completely imagined discussion with him i automatically assumed that because i am not Christian he ASSUMED that i don't believe in God. I do say i'm buddhist / atheist, or i have said that. I honestly don't know what i am, i'm doing that thing where it's easier to look at beliefs and take from them what works for me.

BUT i told him. I believe in a power within all of us, be it our pride or our hope or our bibles or incense holders. Anything that gives us peace and keeps us from giving up. It's something that encourages that compassion from within, it helps with conflict, it helps us to turn the other cheek, to pass on a smile, to help someone who needs it (super cheesy i know, but oh well XD ) it's something that anyone from any religion and belief has. And the sooner we believe it's not just limited to one group, the easier it'll be to listen to, and maybe, not all of it, but maybe the conflict in this world would stop. Not the iraqi war, it'd be nice if that stopped, but even small things, flipping someone off in traffic, hitting your little sister, hiding something from someone so you can avoid conflict.

I was with my friend Dan today, and when the guy drove by Dan shook his head at him, "I don't want to talk to you." Dan said. And i'm horrible with now moments, i DID want to talk to him, but i knew i couldn't i was far too hot headed to be able to have a civil conversation with him. I would say something like what i've been saying, but it would NEVER come out like that, not even if my life depended on it, actually if my life depended on it i might just fart instead... But i know Dan and i agree with each other about him in some way, but i wouldn't have given that man the same reaction, i really do wish i could've spoken with him, oh well, if i see him again, i may print this off and keep it in my bag, just to see what he thinks... to get my two cents in.

I really do think, that if we throw EVERYTHING OUT INTO THE OPEN, and examine it, and try to enforce ( oh god i used the word force ;-; ) this on younger generations, we can find it easier to coexist, we can accept one another, and live and let live.

now onto more nerdy anime watching >w<
