They began walking back towards the room where Gale and the others had fallen in. "So.. how did mom get trapped in the crystals...?" Ceru sighed. "I had been experimenting... with the crystals that grow here... They grow rapidly.... I wanted to see if I could make weapons armor and other tools that would repair themselves if they were broken.." He paused as they entered the room where she was encased. Ceru sighed again. "Gale.... you know how stubborn she was.... She wouldn't leave my side.... And on the day I finally managed to make the equipment repair itself.... She got to close to a broken shard..." He sat down in front of the crystal which held his wife. "The shard began to regrow itself... and it stabbed her.... I couldn't think of anything else I could do... So I removed the shard and broke this group of crystals... I placed her there and they grew around her..." Ceru stood up. "Her wound was healed by the crystal but she may never wake up...." "Ceru...." Cid put his hand on his brothers shoulder. "You've been working down here even since...?" "Yes... trying to find a way to save her... I don't know if she can live without the crystals..." Gale turned and walked to the tunnel leading to where they found the dragons. "Well then... After all this is over WE will come back here.... and WE will find a way to save her." Ceru sighed and they followed Gale into the tunnel.
