Forums are down...sort of. Since I rely mainly on Egosearch, and it's wonky, I'm not posting as much. So...time for a Journal entry! whee
Gaian News
New Forum Those new emoticons are kind of scary. I prefer the less obtrusively animated ones, I suppose. But the worst thing is that the old emoticons are out of place. xd Instead of four columns, there's now five. Wait, was it four? Anyway, it's changed. And I'm still getting used to it. @_@
Casino I haven't spent a penny -- er, gold piece? -- on the Casino yet. Mainly because this old computer will crash before I even enter it. xd Some of the prizes are nifty, though. I have no concept yet of actually how Tickets are valued (and I suppose no one will for some time), but it's insane at the profit some people are making. And I mean regular people. Not like the Fishers who spend hours a day fishing, and even then don't make too much of a profit, bait considered. But just an hour's work can net a nice lump of gold. Apparently, I mean. Since I have absolutely no experience whatsoever with the Casino, I'm just going by what I've heard other people say. But hearsay isn't always reliable. sweatdrop
And in other news...
Father's Day So my family went out to dinner yesterday (since today would probably be too busy), and then today I cooked dinner for my dad. xd Which isn't the greatest idea, since it's the first time I've cooked (I mean, really cooked) at the new place. See, the first time I tried cooking at my dorm this year, I went and set off the smoke detector. *cough* <_<; Besides, as any university student knows, cooking for yourself and cooking for someone else are two entirely different things. It's the first time I've really cooked for someone else, after acquiring my, er, cooking "skills" this past year. xd Fortunately, it turned out rather well. Higher on the scale of cooking than simply "edible". xp At any rate, my dad liked it. And I don't think he was just saying that. domokun
Stepmania Because I can't really call Stepmania "Dance Dance Revolution for your computer". @_@ Anyway, I was obsessed last week with getting AAAs on a few selected tracks. Which of course turned into several tracks. I'm only on Standard, as Heavy is too hard for me to do well in. sweatdrop In games like these, I'd rather do an easy level perfectly, than do a more challenging level with less than stellar results. Perhaps it's the perfectionist in me? In any case, the best AAA I can achieve is a seven footer. In single. I think that's the right terminology...Having played DDR in the arcades all of one time in my life, I'm still not sure what I'm doing in Stepmania. @_o;
All of my songs are from anime (and 90% of them I've never seen xd ), so it's a lot of fun. I mean, at least I recognize several of the songs. I can't say the same for other Japanese songs. Though AnimeFire is changing that. ninja heart Which reminds me that I did Orange and Lemons' "Soramimi Cake" at 0.8 x the speed, and it was horrible. gonk Of course, whenever you play any song in slow motion, it sounds gross and stretched out. But "Soramimi Cake" (from the anime "Azumanga Daioh" wink is a song I don't particularly like in the first place. Or, rather, it's a song that I love to hate. whee heart The voices are really high, almost falsetto. And the lyrics don't make much sense to me...although not much does. @_@ It's a pretty saccharine song (it even has "Cake" in the title xd ), but when you stretch it out, and the voices become deeper, it's really quite disturbing. xp I could hardly play the song in slow motion because I was so freaked out. sweatdrop But the normal song grows on you, like sugar eating its way through your enamel to make a cavity, so now I like sort of the song. >_<; In any case, it happens to be one of the songs I got an AAA in. xd
Here's hoping that I can get my Internet properly up soon. gonk heart
