Broadway Focus The news letter of Broadway Churh of God On the 4th, 1776 a doucment was introduced into the world that would forever change goverment abd govermental Ideas. Ir is a document that has spawn a debateand conversation ever since. It the declartion of Independence.
The fourth of July is a day that most family and friends get together and enjoy numerous fun activities such as having a picnic going to the beach - and we must not forget fireworks! Amid all the activities, we often take for granted the Independence we are celebrating. Our for fathers were a group of ordinary men with an extraordinary vision. They shared a common belief that all people were created equal and were given certain rights by their creator; namely "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness" so great was their conviction that they conspired to accomplish the unthinkable. They faced certain death to ensure that the future of the great nation would be bright for generations to come. They opposed the strongest and richest nation in the world. But why did they risk their lives?
They believed it was their destiny to bring freedom to all people. They believed it was their time and their task; there were no others to accomplish it. They brought a change that rocked the world and forever changed its face.
I realize that I often take for granted the significane of this freedom that I enjoy and the greatest price that won it. When Jesus gave His life upon a cruel tree, He paid the price for my ultimate freedom. He set me free from the curse of sin and death. On Calvary, Jesus Chirst uttereda declartion of independance that shook the heavens when He delcared the words "it is finished!" He broke the chains that held us in bondage and we can know walk free cause Jesus set us free. Galations 5:1 that it is for freedom chirst has set us free! His destiny to break the curse of sin off of all our lives; sin no longer has dominion over us but we now free indeed!
This Independance Day remember the price of freedom and celebrate this freedom. remember the sacrifice of the great men who gave their lives to insure your freedom, but most importantly remember the freedom you have in Christ.
Declare your independnce and walk in your freedom! Pastor James
