So, I just read Dragon's Blood by Todd McCaffery. After Dragon's Kin, I had quite high hopes for him. Maybe, I thought, he would be able to give his characters flaws. Maybe then they wouldn't tick me off as much as Anne's.
Well. The main character of this book was Lorana, a girl with skills in both drawing and animal healing who could speak to all dragons and who lost her family to the plague, except for her father, who was killed by a herdbeast. She Impresses a gold dragon, then loses her.

I could hope, couldn't I?
The good thing about Todd, though, is that he turns a nice, tight plot. After a while, I forgot about the characters and got caught up in that instead. Overall, the book wasn't half bad.
I started art camp a couple of days ago. I have also discovered the Art Arena here at Gaia. I'll probably start posting work eventually. It looks fun. I don't expect very high ratings, but it does look fun.
Okay. The next installment in the Gryphon Chronicals now. I'm sticking with Heliss for the time being, because she's easiest to write as.

The second day of school. Oh, joy. It really is only slightly different from the first. In that I mean, you feel like a newbie but the teachers are already handing out work.
Elsie is in my Italian, Math, and Biology classes. This is good because we can pass notes about gryphons all period (with occasional pauses to actually copy the notes on the board). She says she'll lend me Gryphon Soul if she can find it, wich is good, because that's the one I haven't read and I have a feeling it's the book in which Era is introduced. That would be Era, the gryphon enchantress who proposed the concept of hiding amongst the humans. She also...
You know what? Read the books yourself.
I had a dream about gryphons last night, but it was all very fuzzy.
This journal looks out of order. I really have to start with the morning and work my way out from there. I'll try to do that tomorrow, but I'm done for now.
~Kel (Well, I don't want to be called Heliss, and this seemed like a good place to start)~
