The Moon Cried *currently 12 pages done in two hours, 6 pages per hours. Slow... D:*
Charlie stumbled into a black, rain-drenched alley and promptly slipped on a patch of something oily. His arms flailed wildly to maintain his balance, and there was a moment when he thought he might actually remain upright. But splat he went on the wet, slimy ground, narrowly missing striking his head on a metal trash bin as he pitched backward. From his prone position he saw a rather large rat scurry past his left hand toward the other end of the dank alley. Scrunching his nose in disgust he stood up and shook off as much of the trash off of his coat. Not that his coat was in such a great condition, the gray coarse fabric had small holes seemingly splayed all over. The weak light that still managed to shine from the dim moon illuminated Charlie’s way into the tavern. Immediately the music swirled around him and he grew steadily warmer. Bodies pushed him left and right as he searched the heads for that one familiar one. Sitting down on an open, not wet, seat he slowly got his bearings. The room around him seemed to bouncing with the beat and Charlie had to grab onto his chair to escape the turmoil. “I guess the knock on the head did more to my brains than I imagined.” He muttered to himself, reaching out he swiped a bottle of brandy from the serving woman’s tray. Nodding his head in thanks he tossed a relatively large coin at her as payment. Taking a large swig of the drink he returned his gaze to the dancing crowd. Skimming from face to face he couldn’t seem to find him. Soon his eyes focused towards the center of the room, at the dancing couple. The man was tall and seemed to tower over the young woman, yet the excitement sparking off of her seemed to make up for the lack in size. Her petite face was beaming happily and her thin body swayed to the annoyingly loud music. Charlie was soon captivated in how she moved and her face.
