First off
I love the OFFICIAL GAIA TOOLBAR.
I hate the malware installed with it.
This has been bugging me for the longest time and I have yet to hear ANYTHING saying that the great people behind gaia are even acknowledging it.
If you don't know what I'm talking about then I wouldn't be surprised since it isn't noticeable to any except people who use the "Google Feeling Lucky" tool in the address bar that comes with firefox yet I DO use this function constantly for personal and school usage making using the internet much faster.
Maybe I'm spoiled with not having to type "gaiaonline.com" and just having to type "gaia" to get here.
Or the fact that I type " country flags" and it automatically takes me to a website listing all country flags.
But due to the malware installed with the gaia tool bar it removes and forces the yahoo search engine into the address bar.
I go into the about:config and change the keyword function back to google I'm feeling lucky function. Yet the second I close firefox and reopen it yahoo changes it back!
Here is instructions to change the function back to google. If you have firefox and the official gaia toolbar TRY THIS and see for yourself of the change.
If you want to restore the Google “I’m Lucky” search then perform this simple steps:
1. Type about:config in Firefox location bar and press Enter
2. Type keyword in Filter textbox and you will see only the preference keyword.URL.
3. Double-click on keyword.URL and change the value to: http://www.google.com/search?btnI=I'm+Feeling+Lucky&q=
That’s all it takes to restore default keyword search functionality in Google.
Note: You can use this to change to any search engine for keyword search.
