Name: Ai Shi Kizuna
Age: 13
Ai'a alarm clock blared as it became eight. Ai moaned and slamed her hand down on the source of the noise. She hated mornings.
"Ai dear. You'll be late if you don't get up." Ai's mother called from downstairs."Professor Oak'll be waiting."
Ai blinked awake, and frowned at the harsh light pouring in through the open blinds. She jumped up, sending pillows and her blanket flying.
"Omigod! I'm not going to get my charmander!" Ai quickly realized. She ran into the bathroom and threw on a pair of clothes she'd laid out the night before, before snatching up her toothbrush."Is my messenger bag down there?" she called through her toothbrush.
"Yes dear." her mother called back calmly. Ai spit and rinsed before darting out of the bathroom and jumping all the way from the second floor to the first floor.
Ai slipped on her shoes and grabbed her messenger bag before saying a quick goodbye to her mother and running out the door. It was a warm and beautiful day. It didn't take long for Ai to reach her destination.
She darted into Professor Oaks' lab and dissapered down a hall in then reappeared in a large room.
"Professor Oak?" Ai called out, her voice echoing.
"In here." A voice yelled back from in a room off to the side. A moment later a tall man appeared holding a poke ball and smiled."Oh, hello Ai. Sorry I couldn't save that pokemon for you."
Ai's jaw dropped.
"B-but...you promised..." Ai whined almost in tears. Professor Oak frowned seriously."I have to get a pokemon! Any pokemon!
"Well...there is one..." Professor Oak muttered and pushed a button on one of his panals, sending a tray on a stand up from the ground that stopped about his hip height. "I warn you Ai. This pokemon is a bit tempermental.
The professor picked up the pokeball and held it out for Ai. Ai smiled.
"I'll be fine. It's just another challenge to me! Ai mused, taking the pokeball. As she did, the pokeball glowed and a spark formed around it making it pop open. A red light glowed and a small red pokemon sat there.
Ai looked a bit surprised.
"A puppy?" she said and looked a Professor Oak.
"Here." he said handing her a red box shaped thing."Keep this handy. It's a pokedex. Just flip it open and point it at any pokemon and it'll tell you all about it. It'll record the pokemon as you go so don't worry about losing your information. Though you won't have the information on any pokemon until you point 'dex' at it. Go ahead, try it."
Ai turned towards the puppy and pointed the pokedex at it.
"Growlite, the puppy pokemon. Growlithe's name is derived from the words growl, because it growls at its enemies, and lithe, which refers to its readily bent posture before it attacks them. Naturally loyal and protective, if it is improperly trained it often bites without warning or unprovoked. Growlithe evolves into Arcanine. Growlithe is a fire type." Dex explained.
"Growlithe huh. Well Growlithe let's be friends! Ai said and bent down next to Growlithe. He growled and Ai smiled. She stuck her hand out and Growlithe bit her hand, sending a small shower of crimson rain into the air. Ai just smiled as Professor Oak stared wide-eyed.
"That's a good boy. I won't hurt you. See? We're friends." Ai said smiled. Growlithe let go and began licking her hand where he'd bitten it and whined. Blood poured onto the ground.
"Are you okay Ai?" the professor asked calmly, even though a pool of blood rose in his floor.
"I'm fine." She answered standing.
"Here." Professor Oak said handing Ai five pokeballs."These will help you on your quest. They are the tools you'll need to capture pokemon along your way. Be sure to lower the pokemons' health before you use them though. Now, go. Gary has already begun his journey." Oak said.
Ai nodded and put the pokeballs in her bag. She held out her pokeball towards her growlithe."Return." Ai said sternly and the red light appeared, swallowing Growlithe. Once again, as it did the first time, a spark shocked the pokeball and growlithe reappeared.
"What's the big idea?" Ai asked.
"Seems as if your growlithe doesn't like being in the pokeball. You'd better just let him stay out." Oak advised.
Ai nodded and her and Growlithe took off.
