Age: teens
About: She is silent, when it comes to talking. She writes and uses movements to express herself. Ophelia has a sweet, but very sad face, even if she is not frowning. She always assumes the worst in a situation and resigns herself for the end. She never smiles. Antony likes to dress her in many different Gothic outfits, and this one thing she enjoys, besides Blackcurrant.

Age: 20s
About: Like Ophelia, he doesn't talk. He uses song to express himself mainly. He and Ophelia form an act together, called the Blackcurrant. He is cold and usually obedient. He is in love with Ophelia. It is forbidden to touch her outside rehearsal and performance, but he does anyway, and is whipped by the ring leader for it.

About: Psychopath. His mother was Nordic and his father is Italian. Sometimes his actions are based on his need to protect, which is why he'll do anything, and I mean ANYTHING to keep the troupe together. He may have a childlike evil at heart, but he is also very pitiable. He's generally a nice guy, very normal in public. Crazy, sad, happy-face psychopath. He is capable of killing with his bear hands.

About: She is from Spain, born to a Roma family, and joined the troupe as the fortune teller. Motherly, she is a strong woman figure, and everyone looks up to her. She has a soft spot in her heart for Antony, probably the only one that cares for him besides his sister, even if only in a maternal fashion. High-class, high taste and wise, she is the mediator of the troupe. She represents the Empress. She is also Emily's mother.

Age: 18-20
About: Shasta Leroux comes from a centuries old dukedom in France. Shasta is a fourth German and Russian, and half French. He currently lives in Le Château de Saint Lucifiel in south-east France. Shasta enjoys showing off, and his inherited power of illusion helps him to do that, so don't be surprised to find him with ever-changing hair colors. He's quite the attention whore. Shasta came to Le Cirque de Minuit as a self-proclaimed prodigy of magic and illusion, so he is the resident magician.

Gender: Female
Age: 18-20
About: Went to school with Shasta, calls him Julien. Her mother was Roma, married a fabulously wealthy man, Ethan. She wanders, however, like her mother. Usually follows Shasta, making sure he stays out of trouble. Dancer.

About: Emily's father, a rich Englishman with old royal connections from his mother's Austrian family. He is the troupe's real magician, but is often gone, making Shasta the substitute. He represents The Sun.

Age: 30
About: Aryan race. The manager of Cirque du Minuit. He holds most everyone there by some form of obligation. Takes a liking to Shasta, and recruits him to be a magician. Is Maurice's brother, though no one is quite sure how. He also has Shasta's gift. He could be called a black hole, taking essence from people as he pleases, but is able to control it and utilize it without going mad.

Age: Died when he was twenty-six.
About: Shasta's father. Born in 1768 in France to an obscure line of the La Tour-d'Auvergnes. He was saved from the guillotine in July of '94 by become one of the undead by a family friend. Going slightly mad thereafter (having had watched his family be executed), he has been dealing with the loss of his humanity ever since. Finally able to harness his own demons for a little while, he met and eventually married a German woman in the thirties, Catherine. They have one child together, Shasta. He lives in Paris and in his home in southern France with his family, Maurice, and the created being Messara.

About: Maurice keeps his history private, but since no one cares about spoilers, here goes: He is of the Aryan race, but has a very old German look about him. Shasta has put his age back to Roman Empire times, but he is far older. Wronged by his brother, Sebastian, he made a pact with a demon and became the undead monster he is now. Since he has little humanity left, he has helped himself to the carnage of civilization. He joined the Jacobins during the French Revolution, but made a mistake that would send a friend's family to the guillotine. Trying to make amends, he has stayed with the last "surviving" member.
