John~ Atoli's Forgotten Love
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The sea breeze rushed through Atoli's hair as she walked closer to the deck with her luggage. The sun was setting making a beautiful orange colored sky. She turned back to see her wonderful mother, watching her leave with tears in her eyes. Her horrible stepfather on the other hand, just gave her a cold look that made her shiver. She turned around to see if the boat was coming. She was going to Paris as her late birthday present. She had her luggage ready, and everything. She had a panda back that hung around her neck towards her side, and a sky blue bear backpack, filled with her journals. She had four bags with her along with the trip. Two of them were filled with clothes, while the other two was for living, such as posters, and magazines. She looked down at her stuff and than looked at her mother. She waved rapidly towards her. She stood alone on the dock, but it didn't bother her. Than she heard a loud noise approaching. She turned to see the S.S. Crystal Moon, one of the most beautiful ships ever made. It was at least 5 stories high, excluding the two floors under the deck and the shopping center at the 4th floor, and the restaurant on the 5th. So there were about 9 floors total on the ship. When the ship came onto dock, Atoli quickly walked up the stairs, with her bags, as people rushed down the ship. She walked onto this beautiful wood on the deck and the wood shone. The metal bars were shining brightly and the stairs were made of marble. She looked at the card key that she received and looked at the number. "Room 26." Room 26 was supposedly to be on the second floor. She walked up the stairs quickly, but it was hard because of the luggage. She opened the door and gasped..........
The room was extremely large. It had a large closet that she had ever seen. It had a glass table in it, and it could fit 3 king sized beds in it. She smiled at the closet space, but she didn't have all that clothes to have. She exited the closet and entered the bathroom. It was fairly large, it could fit 2 queen sized beds in it. It had everything you needed for the year long trip. Toothbrushes, 20 towels, a laundry shoot, toothpaste, and a bunch of other stuff. She entered the main room, the bedroom/living room. The bed was extremely large. It was larger than a king sized bed. A plasma television that stretched over 5ft long. There were at least 10 single seated couches in the room, a wooden chest in front of bed, and a wooden cabinet with glass doors and mirror. "Time to redecorate!" She said happily. She pushed all the chairs into a circle making a round couch. She moved the glass table in the closet and placed it in the middle of the chairs. She opened the cabinet and started to unpack the stuff she called her treasures. Her jewelry box, her crystals, statues, pictures, and her journals. As she did that, an envelope fell out of it and landed onto the bed. She smiled happily and closed the cabinet. She started going through her panda bag and placed her special pillow onto the bed, accidentally covering the envelope. The bed had red sheets and pillows with yellow design, which made her pillow clash with the colors. Her pillow was sky blue with purple and pink designs. She smiled happily at what she had achieved. She was settling, but not fast enough. She opened her first two luggage bags, which held clothes. She took hangers from the closet and started to place them in, one by one, in a special place in the closet. She knew she wasn't going to fill the closet, so she decided to give them a place of their own. Each showing their uniqueness and vitality. When she finished it, she barely got over 1/4 of the closet space. "What am I suppose to do with the left over space?" She asked herself. As she moved from bathroom, closet, living room/bedroom, and kitchen to place new items into the room. She than realized, she didn't do anything to the walls. She opened her backpack and than took some of the posters out. She spread them across the wall, and on the closet door and bathroom door. She placed posters of her favorite characters, items, and anime characters. She smiled at her success. As she walked around the room, the door knocked.
She opened the door and there stood a man, shirtless, with black tight pants. He stead his arms and hugged Atoli. "Atoli! Remember me?" He asked as he let go of her slowly. Atoli just stared at him and her cheeks were red.
"No...I don't remember you." Atoli said confused.
"I'm John. John, your ex-boyfriend." John said looking at her. "The last time you saw me was May 5, 2004. After graduation and a little after the graduation party." Atoli still looked confused. "Just look at your journal. You still have those don't you?"
"Yes, but I still don't remember, but somehow you know a lot about me." Atoli said confused at the man. She opened the cabinet and took out her journals. "Senior year I guess." She said as she opened the journal. "Okay let's see." She flipped through the pages, until she found the date before, and the date after. The date was missing. "It's gone."
"I think that it was in my envelope that I gave you." John said. "Besides, I think that you left it somewhere. I told you not to lose it." He said as he looked around the cabin. "I'll look for it while you go down memory lane."
Atoli smiled at him and than started to read the date before out loud. "This morning I woke up with my love. My love that I will not say his name. He told me not to write his name in this journal or any of my journals anymore. I don't know why and he won't tell me. He is amazing. He is my love and I am his. I think I will finally make love with him tonight, maybe tomorrow after the party his friend is throwing for a late graduation and an early adulthood. I wonder if he will show, he has been acting weird lately. Depress even. I hope he is okay. I will see him tomorrow, I hope." Atoli smiled at what she wrote, but she didn't find the next page still.
"I remember that morning. Well I'm going to keep finding it, read the next page, the day after I guess." John said looking for the envelope.
"Okay." Somehow she liked him, somehow. "He disappeared at the party. One moment he was there, the next, he wasn't. I wonder where he is. I hope he is okay. I wish him luck wherever he is. Before though, he gave me an envelope and he told me to open it when I see him again. I want to see him again. I want to see if he is alright. I will keep my promise to him, but I hope that I don't forget him. I hope I don't forget his name either. I haven't been using it lately, but he promised he will see me again, somehow or another. I will wait for him, from now until forever if I must. I will see him again, I will. Well at the party, we were having fun, and after I went to the restroom, he disappeared from the party. Nobody saw him leave, nobody saw him go anywhere. I guess he left unnoticed. Well one person did see something. The said that some older looking man took him by the ear and dragged him into a car. I was shocked and hoped and prayed. I waited all night for his call or something a sign maybe. I got it too. A voice mail. The exact words are: I will see you again. I will see you later. I will find you. I will miss you. Now I need you to forget about me. That letter holds everything you need to know when you see me again. : I was amazed, but there was no return thingy. Well at least there was one thing, he was a stripper, so that could be a problem." Atoli turned to him. "Your a stripper?"
"Yes, I still am." John said as he jumped onto the bed. He have gave up. "Well, I done. I can't find it."
"Than please make yourself at home, I'll look." She said as she went through her stuff again. Went through all of her things, other journals and the only thing left that she hadn't check was the bed, but John fell asleep on the bed. Atoli just looked at him smiling. He was something, but she didn't know what.
