((Copied from Xanga, posted on Monday, so this is old, but it's still recent-ish))
Well, here I sit in my mom's classroom posting up a Xanga entry about the.. err... pivotal (?) first day of school.
First up was Health, which I was too nervous to go into the classroom because nobody else was in there. Turns out we're going to learn CPR, and that'll be quite useful. We'll even be certified. The only thing I'm going to have a problem with are the dummies we have to practice on. (I'm not even going to THINK of how many mouths have touched them before)..
Second was World History. This'll probably be an interesting class.. he gave us a lecture on what supplies we needed, the TAKS test we'll need to take at the end of the year, y'know, the usual.
Third up was Algebra II with Mr. Surley again. He's cool, and I know what to expect from his classes, so I'm okays with it. He's not using the notebook system, so I'm kinda bummed, but I'm going to take notes anyway. They totally helped me last year.
Fourth was Ceramics. I can already tell I'll LOVE this class, we're going to be working with, as the name of the class suggests, sculpting and clay and such. I'm not too good with it, but I'll hopefully be better once the year is done.
I have A Lunch, and that was a hassle, let me tell you. All my friends, it turns out, (or my friends I had lunch with last year), stayed in B Lunch, so I had to stick with my lower-level buddies. Not that that's a bad thing, but now I'm with Freshman and Sophomores instead of Juniors and Seniors. Ah well.
English II was pretty interesting. We're going to be reading some very good novels and plays, including The Scarlet Letter, Hamlet, some selections from Paradise Lost, etc.
Sixth was Spanish III. That class is totally going to be a goof-off class. A lot of my friends were in it; I being the youngest one shall be the most taunted of the lot. But oh well, it was funny listening to Seth crack lesbian jokes at Nancy.
Seventh was Biology. We took a pre-test, just to figure out where we were on our Science skillz. I myself was quite proud with what I could remember from Mr. Hanstein's IPC classes. Those were the days..
Eighth was Tennis II. Oh yes, I'm totally going to call it Tennis II all year. Coach Quy was away, so we had Coach H (Mr. Hendrickson) give us the lecture and such. Some kids that had signed up for it, I'm very.. very positive SHOULD be gone by the time Quy gets back. I pray they're gone, I seriously do.
Right now I'm drinking a chocolate shake and am about to start eating my salad from Sonic. I like their salads, they're not too bad.
Tennis II running starts tomorrow. I get to wear my PUMAS!
