CHAPTER 3
The rest of the day passed tentatively, as brandon showed jaqueline around the rest of the house. every slight touch or eye contact was making brandon uneasy and jacqueline found this immensly pleasurable. if he stooped to pick up a pencil she would say "oh how improper for a gentleman to stick his rear out in such a way in a ladys presence". or while he was playing with jihl she would say "you look so happy playing with pu ssy" and gave him a wink. brandon was most certainly not used to having a young woman around.
"brandon!" a large bellow shouted for the sixth time today. brandon and jacqueline let out a slight groan as george interrupted their tutorial yet again. it was obvious that george was jealous. he had spent half the day trying to get brandons attention away from jacqueline, and the other half flirting with her.
"what do you want now?" brandon asked george angrily. the little patience bradon had, was now shot to pieces.
"hey brandon!" george was rather excited about something. it was raining very hard outside by then and all the noise was nearly deafening. "that pegasus of yours got out. i saw it wondering around outside in the rain, and some thunder struck the socks of it, and it ran to the east, toward the ocean."
brandon looked at george, almost dumb-founded, and soon came to his senses. "well why the hell didnt you go after it?! how long ago was this?" george looked at him. "maybe an hour." brandon glared at him and ran toward a back door. jacqueline ran after him, trying to catch up. "where are you going, sir? can i help?" jacqueline couldnt keep up with him and finally slowed a bit. brandon turned briefly. "im going out to find it. he could be struck by lightning in the fields or if he flew. you can help if you can ride a horse well in the rain."
he turned and ran into the rain, in the direction of the stables. it was still bright outside, the clouds were thin, but the electricity in the air was frightning the horses. jacqueline got onto a horse, squeezing it with her thighs and snapping at the rains, hearding it east. brandon was rather far ahead, but jacqueline caught up soon.
"Victory! Victory!" he bellowed into the howling wind like a war hero galloping home from a desperate battle "stick close, jacqueline. theres one place that Victory loves to fly to. its on the cliff not far from here but the road is trecherous in the rain and full of bandits. i do not want anything to happen to you so stay by my side always. do you swear?"
she nodded as andrenaline and excitement flowed through her. Brandon reared his horse and sped off down a dark path, with one eye still on the rider behind him. the road weaved this way and that and seemed to go on forever. brandon had gone this path many times but it always seemed new and the trees were said to move on their own whim.
BANG! a loud shot rang through the air and brandon fell from his horse clutching his arm. he sprang up almost as soon as he hit the ground and reached for his sword. jacqueline pulled up next to him to see what was wrong and noticed blood trickling from his left arm.
before she could even ask what had happened brandon shouted "get back to the mansion right now! there are bandits about, they may be poachers too.
"what about victory? we need to find him. if there are more of these men, they could reach him first. ill go find him and get back home a different way." she sped off before brandon could object and he stood with his sword in hand, facing the direction they came.
jacqueline hurdled up the road, men appeared out of trees. one was on horseback as well and she steered the horse toward some fallen branches and a harder path to follow. eventually she lost him and soon they were under pure sky and rain. jacqueline quickly followed the sound of crashing waves and heard gunshots from behind her. she worried for brandon, but spotted victory right by the cliffs. she feared the horse may frighten him, so she dismounted and slowly walked up to him.
victory rubbed his nose into shoulder and she stroked his wet neck. most of the lightning has ceased and jacqueline thought of a way to get back. she slapped the horses arse in the direction of the mansion, far around into the hills, and hoisted herself onto victory's back. she patted his neck and held on tight as he launched himself into the air, following the horse on the ground.
Brandon, to put it lightly, was in deep s**t. bandits had sprang from bushes all around the beaten track. they were dressed in strange black uniforms and face masks which brandon had never seen before. these werent the usual bandits and poachers he had seen in these parts. however, before he could fully consider who they were his common sense told him he had better get moving.
"stop right there!" one of the men shouted after him as he bolted down the path jaqueline had gone down, clutching at his bleeding arm. gun shots flew past his ears narrowily avoiding his cranium. brandon was a fast runner and very familiar with these woods but he knew he couldnt escape the bandits on horseback like this. As soon as he rounded yet another bend, he jumped head first into a large bush.
his heart beat large and heavy against his ribs as he lay in hiding. despite the strange bandits being merely a couple of metres away from him, thundering down the path he had just leapt from, all he could think about was wether jacqueline had gotten away safely. he could never forgive himself if anything happened to her.
as she rode the gawky young animal through the air, jacqueline couldnt see brandon's house anywhere. clouds were gathering and rain was heavily pouring now. the horse on the ground has slowed to a light trot as it tired. victory couldnt stay in the air in this rain, much less with a human on his back, so she let him land, with a mild amount of grace, in a field near the forest. jacqueline didnt realize how far theyd gone or if they were even headed in the right direction.
Brandon saw victory flying just above the trees with a nervous looking figure on its back and knew immediately who it was. luckily he knew the quickest way to go through the woods and was sure he could make the distance by foot off the path just as fast as the horse riders could on the path. by ducking and weaving through branches and large unpleasant looking plants he made his way quickly in the direction he had seen jacqueline and victory flying in.
suddenly jacqueline heard a noise from the tall grasses and a young man wearing the same uniform as the other bandits had emerged with a pistol pointed at her. thunder struck and the horse ran away but victory stood still. all the horse wanted was shelter and it knew the man could not catch it alone. so instead he darted for jacqueline. a shot went off into the air in their struggle and brandon's breath was cut off as he feared the worst. the man finely got jacqueline's hands and ankles tied together and picked her up in one arm, leading victory on a rope with the other hand.
soon jacqueline was thrown down onto the ground as the men laughed hardily at their catches. brandon couldnt help but let out an angry grunt as they pulled her up by her hair and lifted her dress up, tearing other parts of it.
alas, when brandon skidded in behind another bush he was just in time to see jacqueline being grabbed by another lot of masked men. "how many of these bastards are there?" he thought as he rubbed his temples trying to think of a plan. as the uniformed bandits pulled jacqueline towards them brandon could feel his blood boil. they began to tear at her soiled dress, laughing all the while. brandon let out an anguished shout and knew he had to act now.
Brandon picked up a large stick from a near by tree and leapt over the bush, charging at the enemy. the bandit closest to branons hiding place spun around just in time to receive a large smack to the face. the second closest, received a black boot squarely in the chest. there were three bandits left standing now and brandon wasnt ready to back down.
jacqueline saw brandon and smiled in relief. the man pulled at her hair as he fought back at brandon, unwilling to let her go. brandon kicked his arm and moved himself in between the masked man and the girl, his eyes blinded by pure rage. jacqueline's hands were tied behind her and she untied her ankles with shaking fingers as brandon knocked out another man. two remained and she got to her feet. the men noticed this movement and one turned brandons full attention to himself. the other went to recapture jacqueline. she kicked at him and ran but he gave her a strong blow to her head. she fell just as brandon went after the man.
jacqueline missed the rest of the fight. brandon had either killed or knocked unconscious every man that was directly in their vincinity. he untied victory's neck and jacquelines wrists. he gently lifted her body onto victory's back and mounted himself behind her, holding onto her tightly. victory took off through the cover of the trees and they flew back the mansion.
brandon carried her inside and upstairs. george ran after them as he carried her down the hall and into his bedroom, locking the door behind them. he softly laid her on his bed and took off her dress, shoes and stockings, covering her with the blankets as he tried not to stare, blushing. his bed was very large and high off the floor, with thick draping coming down from the four posts. he kicked off his shoes and collapsed onto an elaborate sofa and passed out.
