i know, i know, i haven't written in a while. i know ya'll missed me and need an update (not). anyway, i went to nicaragua last month, which was a whole bunch of fun. the only thing i missed was the air conditioning. one of the hotels we stayed at had one of those box air conditioners that had been stuck in a hole in the wall, and it was not sufficient for the size room we had. i had trouble sleeping because i was so hot. one thing's for sure: the heat in nicaragua is no different from the heat in texas. it's hot and humid. i hate humidity.
anyway, i got to hold a monkey. it was so cool! well, at least until it tried to choke me to death by wrapping its tail around my neck. man, their tails are strong. oh, and at the same hotel, there were two cats that visited us. one of them wanted some of the fish we had. mom gave it a fairly big chunk and it ate the whole thing. the other cat wanted nothing to do with the fish. the one who didn't want the fish used me as a bed the next day while i was reading.
i tried to go surfing, but i was so bad at it i couldn't even catch a wave. i'm never going to be able to surf.
the legal drinking age in nicaragua is 18, so i had alcohol practically the whole time i was there. well, just for dinner. i could have gotten some at the bar at one of the hotels we stayed at, but i didn't. i just got coca-cola light, which is similar to diet coke, but sweeter. nicaraguans like to mix coca-cola light with flor de caña, which is their alcoholic beverage. it tastes like coke that's been spiked.
when i got home, i was so happy to be in the air conditioning. i literally went upstairs and turned on the air conditioner and texted all my friends saying that i loved the air conditioning. they all laughed at me. i was like, whatever.
life hasn't been that interesting since i got back from nicaragua, but i have been hanging out with my friends. so far we've seen hellboy 2, the dark knight, and hancock together. out of all of them, i liked the dark knight the best. hancock was okay. hellboy 2 was pretty good.
