Rose: Hold Please
Waiting, Rose was happy when Wolf returned to consciousness. Thankfully, the bond was not hyper-sensitive, but Rose was still fairly certain that Shal had woken Wolf up somewhat abruptly.
But once he was awake, there was no good news. Shal was letting Rose know that they didn't know how to beat the Staruda, just that they had to try. Rose's face squenched up in displeasure.
To Lord Avondale, she said, "Wolf is okay, now, too. They were trying to think of a plan, but have so far not thought of anything. They... don't know how to beat this thing. Wolf fought it in Riverworld, but..." she winced and paused. "But he lost."

Taran: Going off to Doze
Taran nodded, smiled, and bowed to n** and decided that he really could use a nap.
"n**? I don't suppose you would let Flan see through your eyes, would you? Mine might be quite useless, closed as they will be." He expected she would accept, of course, even though she had already been quite gracious. Her response to him locking her in was, of course, no less than he could expect from a Dragoon to the Blue Dragon Princess, and he was very happy about that.
He planned to take a decent nap either way, and decided to head down into one of the crew quarters nearby. Then he'd be close enough to react if necessary. And he knew the others could contact him through Flan's telepathy anyways.
He plopped down on the cot, and closed his eyes.

Se'rox: Considering Events
Nealiminity poured Se'rox a cup of tea, and for a moment, it seemed almost as it had so many years ago. But they were not in an adobe apartment, there were no windows to let the sun in, and the cave was rather... drafty.
"So." Nealiminity said, setting down the teapot, and started adding lemon to her tea. "What brings you back?"
It was a loaded question. They both knew it. When the Organization couldn't find Se'rox, they had searched here. The world had not yet recovered, and it never would. Se'rox had managed to be found by the only person on the planet capable of feeling anything but hatred for Se'rox on Kaitan.
Se'rox sipped her tea, trying to reason it out.
"I... I needed a place that I... that things were not... where no matter what... " Se'rox, for the first time in her life, was unable to find the words.
Nealiminity, being a very intelligent green dragon, set down her cup.
"You met her, didn't you?" she asked.
"Well, yes, but-" Se'rox answered
"No but. You met her. Meetings change people." Nealiminity reasoned.
"That's not it." Se'rox said.
Nealiminity shook her head, obviously being misunderstood.
"Have you never considered, Se'rox, that in order to have a heart, you must first prove to others that you already have one?" Nealiminity stated.
Se'rox "stared" at Nealiminity. She couldn't speak. It made sense, but it was as if Nealiminity was so completely off base here that it was unusual. She hadn't even linked Se'rox's pain with Zuchax III....
"And when you have a heart- or even a fragment of one, does it not long to be more than it is? To share in more than just itself?" Nealiminity stated again, with an annoying clarity.
But Se'rox still felt as if she weren't getting it. Still not linked to Zuchax III. She hadn't come back to seek out friends...
"And if that piece were to be shared, would you not want to stay with him whom you shared it with?" Nealiminity finished.
Se'rox was dumbfounded. She was not entirely sure, but... the whole thing made perfect sense. Along with her own suspicions that Nobodies with living Somebodies were somehow different, this was astonishing. And did absolutely nothing to lessen the physical pain in her chest. And yet, she was not sure about all this.
Nealiminity sipped her tea again, letting her old friend put it through her logical tests, as usual. Nealiminity had been working on figuring out quite a few things about Nobodies in the last three years, and was certain of one thing- Nobodies were not all the same. Some had potential, while others did not. Se'rox did.

Hopefully he gets lots of sleep, hold the drama.
Nealiminity scares me. But in the semi-good way.
