As I'm writing this, I'm bawling in tears. I couldn't believe it.
It didn't feel like it when I went in today.
Today was the last day of work for me. I've been there for almost 3 years, which would make their longest part-time employee.
Ashley would've taken my shifts, but we can't get a hold of her. I would have loved to say goodbye to her. She was a great worker.
Brooke said she was going to visit me today and say goodbye, but she didn't pop in. sad
Mike [the boss] dropped in at around 5:30ish and he called Max up to the front. They sent me downstairs to do something [I knew they were up to something] and then called me back up. When I came to the front, everyone was huddled around a cake that Max got for me. It was in the shape of a book. I quit work so that I can go to school soon, so that's why they made it in to the shape of a book.
They sang the Happy Birthday song, but instead of saying Happy Birthday, they said Congratulations to you!
Max calls me "my Melissa" so when the song came to "Congratulations dear ____", Max said "Congratulations my Melissa".
Mike gave me a card to open and inside was a couple hundred dollars. I tried to read the card, but I couldn't. My ears were already starting to water. I couldn't say or do anything but cry.
Max gave me a whole bag of treats and said they were all JUST FOR ME! [Everyone else likes to steal my treats when we leave them under the counter at work]
I blew out the candle on the cake. [There was seven candles, not sure why though. Seven is Max' lucky number though.]
I didn't really work today, lol. It was pretty much a lazy day. We ate the cake and then Chris went to get some coffee for everyone and hot chocolate for me. [I don't like coffee]
We sat outside for a "little" break then went inside for another "break". lol
Mike was like "you've had a goofy day today" since I didn't really work, but he didn't mind since it was my last day and he said I deserved it. Mike and Debbie [a great customer to our store] hugged me as I cried.
We finished up with the store and said our last goodbyes.
It was too bad Joe couldn't make it. sad
I'll miss them all, I really will. Especially Max. She's the beeeessstest.
But I promised everyone that I would see them off before I leave hometown and they all said that if I ever need help, I could always phone them or come to them. Even if it's to kick some guy's butt! XD
Mike and Max kissed me goodbye.
Max didn't want to hug me because goodbye is always the hardest part, but she did.
Now I'm just finishing up this entry and I'm STILL in tears.
I really need a shoulder to cry on right now.
