These are story ideas I'd like to write; if you've got suggestions for them, comment. Please note that I'll be writing them for the practice and experience, not because they're original or funky.
Solids:
1) A Fairytale
A young man, Mikyel, is betrothed to a fifteen year old girl, as is a custom of both their countries. The girl and Mikyel are forced to spend time together but with the age difference and the manner in which they are shoved together, they don't get along. Just before their wedding, which is set on the day of the girl's seventeenth birthday, Mikyel finds out that the mainland belonging to his country is under attack. Right after the wedding, he leaves to fight, and his mother, the matriarch of the island belonging to her family, returns home with the girl. She sees Mikyel a few times, when he goes home for the mandatory two-week break every six months, but she is caught up in 'womanly' things as declared by her visiting mother so that she rarely gets time alone with him. He thinks of her as nothing more than a simple girl, and she thinks he's a stubborn, boorish pig.
The pirates attacking the mainland stop their attacks and start sailing back, but come across the island after sailing the wrong direction in a storm. They attack, but the girl and Mikyel's large extended family on the island mount a return attack, and Mikyel and the girl end up fighting side-by-side. He starts seeing her as a person, and she is less convinced that he's worthless.
The end? Dunno where to end this fershure, but I might leave it right here.
Plot Bunnies:
1) The Skippers
A bunch of teens get 'skippers' that can send them to one or two different dimensions.
Time Lord is stealing them so he can be in control of all the dimensions, because he fears that there is a bigger enemy out there.
A vortex is created, from which a monster comes. The teens and TL have to work together to defeat it, but TL still thinks something is out there and steals all the skippers again, sending the teens to their separate home dimensions.
2) A Ghost Story
A man was killed for raping and murdering the mayor's daughter. Both the daughter and the man's spirits are left in the man's old house.
A girl is tricked into going into the house with a few friends. She escapes the murdering spirit but her friends don't. The man steals her voice.
John and Ryan and the girl end up returning to the house a few years later because Ryan thinks he knows how to get rid of the spirits. The girl has to face her nightmares and gets her voice back, but Ryan disappears after banishing the spirit, and John rescues the girl.
Later, they find out that Ryan was also a spirit, the dead son of the mayor's daughter's sister's great-great-granddaughter. He died in a car wreck on the same day of the girl's friends dying.
