So I got my appendix out. At first, my stomach hurt like crazy and I was just moaning in pain lying in bed and I felt like I wanted to die. I mean, death couldn't be more painful, right? Considering you're already dead and won't feel any pain. So then the next day, it moved down to the right side of my body and we rushed to the "Emergency section". Emergency my a**. Waited nearly two hours to see a doctor. But the day before we went to a GP and I waited 3 hours, so at least it's better than that stare Anywho, the reason for this post is to say that I nearly died. Well, so says my sister and friend. I told them my appendix became inflamed and some of the fluid in it leaked out into my bowels. Then they were like to me "OMG! You could've died!!" Dude, I didn't know it was so easy :S So anyway, I have a nice little story of my time in the hospital. Pretty nice, considering the fact that I now vomit in my mouth at the mention of 'hospital' and 'food' in the same sentence and I wake up in the middle of the night, hallucinating that there's a nurse in my room ready with my shot of daily antibiotics and a new bag for my drip. So anyway, here goes the story:
I was lying all weak in my hospital 'bed' (In marks because it was no bed. More like a lumpy piece of crap stare ) when some nurse came to give my my antibiotics. I feel sick whenever I smell them now, but that's beside the point. So there I was and I decided to take a nap because I felt so lonely. When I woke up, my blinds were drawn and so was the curtain around my bed so it was kinda dark and I couldn't really see. So anyway, I felt that my arm, the one with the IV needle in it, was wet. So I looked down and thought "Oh crap. The needles come out." So I was going to call for a nurse but one came in anyway to check on my drip. I said to her, "I think the drip's leaked." So she turned on the light and we both nearly screamed. HOLY CRAP. My blood had leaked out onto the bed along with the fluid. Awesome, huh? Then the nurse called for another nurse to come help and she undid the tape on my IV. By now, I was starting to get woozy, but the pain brought me back to reality. Oh yes, the pain. Because, seeing my needle half coming out of my arm, the nurse did a very gentle thing. She pushed it back in. I tried, I swear I tried not to scream and give her my dirtiest look, but not much can I remember stare So she was holding it and shaking a bit and and I was in pain like crazy. Finally, all got sorted and my sheets were changed to nice, clean, blood-and-drip-fluid-free sheets. I will say, I never slept in the afternoon again. More gruesome episodes to come.
