Kai shook her head again. "That's okay, Lady Shizune. I can find her myself. Thanks, though. See you later." With that, Kai walked out of the door and out into the streets of Konoha.

Walking through the village, Kai smiled and waved at the people she knew. Being the Hokage's charge, she was loved by many and hated by almost none.
WHAM!!!! Not paying attention top where she had been walking, Kai had run straight into a person.
"Oof!" she muttered as she fell to the ground, landing squarely on her butt. It seemed that the other person had fallen as well.
"S-sorry! I should really pay better attention to where I'm going...." Kai laughed.
"It's okay. Just be more careful, Kai-sama. It would be a shame for such a successful member of ROOT to get hurt."
Kai froze. Who would know about that? Looking at the person for the first time, she saw that it was Sai, the super-stoic guy from ROOT. Regaining her "mask of plainness", as she called it when she pretended to have no emotion, Kai nodded. "Of cource, Sai-kun. It would also be a shame for you to be hurt as well. I deeply appologize for any pain I may have caused you."
With a nod, she got up to leave. She was almost to her feet when a strong hand gripped her forearm.
"I know what you are, Kai-sama. I know your intentions for being in ROOT. Let me be the first, and last, to warn you that you need to be on guard about keeping that a secret."
With one of his mysterious, yet completely fake, smiles, Sai finished rising and promptly left, leaving behind a bewildered Kai.
