-chan: mainly used for between close friends and mostly for people the same age as you or younger than the person using it; used for females more than males
-san: used for those who aren’t close to you and is more respectful
-kun: similar to “-san” but is usually used for males
-sama: shows high respect and is used for those with a much higher status and oftentimes used for those of royalty
