Okay, everyone's doing this, so I thought I would, too.

A man stepped up to the front door of Selies Monaghan's condo. He rang the bell, and Selies answered. This was the man she had been fearing for two years. "I'm sorry Sel... But I'm afraid your father's been announced missing in action... He was last seen in an explosion, then... disappeared." The man sighed, moving forward to give her a reassuring hug and a pat on the back as she cried into his shoulder.
"I knew this was coming," Selies said quietly. "I just didn't think it would be so soon, Richard..." Richard. An old family friend, who'd been by David Monaghan's side since highschool. Richard patted her on the back again and said, "You realize you have a choice. You can remain your ranking as Warrant, or you can assume position as Conductor, follow in his footsteps. He'd be proud. I know some people who can cut corners, find loopholes. You can do this if you really want to and make history." It was settled before Selies had even answered. She was going to take up the position her father had left for her. She had to.

Five Years Earlier

"Bye, Daddy! I'll see you at five sharp, got it?" Selies poked her head inside the doorway. David nodded from his armchair, replying: "Of course, dear! Have a good day at school. Watch for cars!" Selies giggled and skipped off to the bus-stop, and away to the London Academy For Young Girls. It was a private school, girls only. She didn't get to date. At all. Nor did she want to. She was fourteen years old at the time, living in an oversized house for just her over-protective father, Carmen Knighte (her nanny), and herself. A year later, she would go to live at an army base to learn the ways of the soldier. Why? She would be blamed for crimes her uncle commited.

One Year Later

Selies was spending the summer with her aunt and uncle, Rosalie and Robert Monaghan, in Oxford, England. But one night, Rosalie and Robert got in a fight. They were cheating on each other. Robert, being the Monaghan he was, got very, very angry. And Rosalie had a little accident with a balcony. Selies witnessed everything. The court case says Selies and her aunt were in an argument about whether or not she could go home. The file says Selies got angry and pushed Rosalie over the edge to her death. Robert claimed to be outside smoking at the time. Selies was sent to a boot camp at her father's specified headquarters.

Present Day

Selies Monaghan, Warrant Officer, Class One Conductor of the British Army was doing quite well. A millionaire at the age of nineteen, due to her rich Uncle Robert's untimely death, she lived better than most. Her job was going well. Her troops were keeping peace in the Iraq War, helping out the stoopeed ah-mare-ih-cans. But the people didn't approve of the leader of their army being so young. Some were plotting assassinations, others impeachment.
Selies had made success in not only her career, but also in her social and even romantic life. She'd never had many friends. She was always the odd ball. No one really liked her. She didn't grow into herself until about seventeen. Her sight had fallen on Toteke Yatsutoya, which was just her luck. Her best friend, a womanizing hanyou. Selies Monaghan: The next target of the notorious President Yatsutoya. Will they make it through these trying times, or will duty rip them apart? Nobody knows. Yet.
