That girl staring back through the mirror
She wonders if she could get any nearer.
To look into those eyes and see the truth
But anyone else sees is just a youth.
The silken hair that shines
But does that matter when they miss all the signs
She hits the mirror to watch that girl shatter
Because she never really did matter
She will keep up this guise, even though it is unwise,
To keep on living in a world full of lies
To all the others she is perfect
But none of them do suspect
That in one moment her world could come crashing
Inside her it is always slashing
And to her heart it is always smashing
She knows that she is not be mistaken
Thinking she can’t be the only one forsaken
As she looks down at all the shards
She asks herself who holds all the cards
Another piece of her withers
As the shadow forever slithers
She has nothing left to say
So she turns to go on her way
To lie through another day
