Sitting here in the cold
I wonder if I could be so bold
As to tell you exactly what is on my mind
I wonder what you would find
Would you see how my heart breaks
At the time that it takes
For you to comprehend
That your heart is on the mend?

You are forgiven
Now its time to get back to livin
Wounds take time to heal
But they will also reveal
The man you were meant to be
I hope one day that you can see
That though you don't like who you are
You have come really far
I see courage, strength and love
And I know that God above
Has you back
And loves you even with all that you lack

I have been by your side
And I have even cried
I can still see your smile when I close my eyes
Even though it may be my demise
I see your heart
And I wish to be a part
Of the man that is broken and torn
I know that he will be reborn
God has a way of healing the broken
With the words that he has simply spoken
If you look through the word
You will see what I have heard

What doesn't kill you makes you stronger
And you can't hide any longer
From the fact that a part of you is lost
But what was the cost?
How did you end up on this path?
Feeling this cold draft
Suddenly you feel a hand
And beside you is where I stand
Nodding and giving you a smile
You know that I will go the extra mile

Step by step, day by day
I will go with you all the way
Giving your hand a gently squeeze sometimes I take the lead
Because of God's love and sacrifice you are redeemed
Through all the tears and all the pain
And even through all the rain
I won't be leaving your side
And know that I have already made up my mind
