Sooooo, i've been drafted to help some vauge aunt I know little to nothing about set up her brand new computer simply because I know a SMIDGE more about computers than my dad and my step mom combined
Dad knows how to turn a computer on but that's about it.
Step mom can do taxes and surf the web.
I know all of those and then some. The then some includes what do do when the keyboard stops working (if beating the damn thing doesn't work check connections), what to do when the mouse stops working (beating, checking connections, and with old mice making sure the ball and pins are clean), when the computer freezes (screaming for a half hour at it, try control+alt+del, finally unplugging and plugging the thing back in), and virus checking (if norton doesn't pick it up, then I'm screwed).
Oh, and I need to go install firefox on dad's computer. much better than aol, netscape, or internet explorer *hasn't tried safari or any other progams* simply because of the tabs.
