When Azuki was born, her mother died in child birth. Her father blamed her for her mothers death and held a loathing for the newborn child. Azuki's older brother, Kyoya, noticed this. He kept the child away from the malicious parent and technically raised her himself. As the child grew older, her power increased, leading Kyoya to believe she would be fine, for he had been called to visit an old friend, Ryou. Upon arriving to see Ryou, Kyoya had discovered that his old friend had fallen into darkness. The face of the once gentle, kind boy at turned into a maniacal look that was constantly plastered onto his face. Forcing Kyoya into a battle, Ryou sent him to a hellish void. A world of nothingness. Stuck in the world for 40 years, he could not return to his sister. Meanwhile, Azuki's human years had reached 19 as she stopped aging physcially. Through those years, he father had sent assassins to assassinate her. During one of the attempts, Azuki captured on the the men. She made him tell her who had sent them. Two words had escaped the man, " Your father..." before he was slaughtered on the spot. Having fed up of himAzuki killed her father with ease. Kyoya had finally escaped the void and immediately went back to the Kurayami household. Finding his father's corpse, Kyoya didn't care much. The wretched man deserved it. Years passed as Azuki wandered aimlessly through the feudal era, Kyoya searching for her. After nearly 10 years, Kyoya had finally found her.
