Honestly, I believe that a superiority is preferable beside and inferiority problem. Most people that are so timid in life are attempting to draw out comfort from those around them.
"I'm ugly, you don't have to pretend I'm not."
"Oh, don't be silly, you're beautiful, I'd kill to have a body like yours!" Altogether, it's a vicious cycle because it's become 'socially acceptable', a term that I for one spit upon. Just because you don't have the strength to admit your positives doesn't mean you have to force your worries upon others.

Now, take this quote to heart and soul, losers! Cease your whining about your appearance and flaws! Guess what? Believe it or not, things could actually be BAD in your life. Appreciate what you have and make an attempt at deserving it.
If you're that hung up about self-doubt, just shut up, and you'll realize NOBODY CARES! Nobody notices that you're fat as Satan. Nobody minds that you're an unattractive slug! Nobody gives a damn if you don't look good in a bikini. And for God's sake, Nobody CARES if you don't have a "significant other"!!!!!
In my opinion, even though putting on the charade of, or even believing, a superiority complex may seem rude, it's better than pushing your problems on another person. Suffer in silence, don't whine. You'll get over it at the same measure of time anyways. Soon, you might even be able to believe those false declarations of confidence that spew from your parted lips....
