Gryphen, Shayra and I arrived inside Kithnal's Planar Travel Hub, which was now dark. "Well, this place's backup generators must have failed. We left just in time!" I said. As we walked outside, I was looking at the vending machine by the entrance and raised an eyebrow. "Fluffy, are you planning on stealing a soda?" Shayra asked.
"Hey, who's here to care if I do? Besides, if I'm gonna run ANOTHER fifteen miles, I'm gonna need gratuitous amounts of energy!" I punched through the plexiglass plate and then pulled out and shotgunned a Rawberry-flavored Power Thirst. I took off my backpack and handed it to Shayra. "Could you teleport to my house with our stuff? It'll slow us down."
"No problem, chief!" she replied, and grabbing onto my bag and Gryphen's bow and arrows, she winked and disappeared. I twitched as I felt the Power Thirst kick in, and I turned to Gryphen and said, "Let's go! Follow me!" We ran the road to Chaniss in eight minutes, a personal best.

When we got to home base, I looked at a newly constructed, ten foot tall wood, razorwire and sandbag barricade around the house. "Doriyan." I said smiling. I jumped over it easily. "Ahem." Gryphen cleared her throat and tapped a hoof.
"Oh, right. I'll get Popper." I went inside, got Shayra, and she teleported Gryphen to our side of the barricade. We went inside and I looked around at the stacks of boxes engulfing the living room. "Claive! It's about about time you got back. We've been done with the lists you gave us for a few hours." Doriyan said as he and Chai walked in.
"So you built a giant fence?"
"Well, the hardware store and military surplus outlet are just a few blocks away..." I patted him on the back. "Hey, way to be proactive." I told him. Chai looked at Gryphen. "Hi." they both said. "Guys, this is my housemate from Gaia, Gryphen. Gryphen, these two are my best friend Doriyan and his fiancée, Chai."
