midnight afterlife chapter 3
AS I stared at the bare waste land of nothingness I saw a man unshaven with a rifle hanging over his shoulder. He didn’t seem to see me for all I knew but he still managed to sense my presence
“You’re the knew adventurer right , huh?” he asked with a big smirk on his face “good luck out dere.” I couldn’t tell weather he was being sarcastic or not. I walked past him and he shot a bullet right next to my foot. I quickly un-holstered my gun and he put his rifle on his shoulder and looked at me
“What was that for” I asked accidently raising my voice.
“You want some help with your travels” he asked ignoring me
“I think im fine” i said then turned around. Right as I started to walk away a bullet whizzed right past my head “what are you trying to do kill me!!!” I was furious and once again he ignored me.
“I have good aim” he smirked. I walked away as annoyed as I possibly could be. at first didn’t know where to look there was nothing anywhere but at the same time being locked up in boxes then in so called ‘towns’ made everything seem so awesome. I walked over the hill separating a normal persons sight from the real world to see the box to my left and a broken-down building to my right. I already knew everything that was in the box besides the hostile and the mutated so I decided to go toward the building..
The insides, filled with what seem to be large colonies of half alive human.
“Are you one of them” I woman asked holding her sleeping son in her arms. The boy’s hair seemed to float upward like a feather. “Look what you did to him you happy now!!!” she screamed with fear in her eyes. Two men started to appear from behind piles of ash and rock.
“im not one of ‘them’” I answered the men still inching closer until I could see both of them equipped with knives’. I could tell they wanted me to prove it but I wasn’t sure how.
“Yah last time one of your people said you where friendly look what happened then.” One of the men said. They were becoming very hostile firming there grip on there weapon’s. “So you best be leaving, one of them or not ill still rip you to shred’s!!!”
“I suppose you should back off before I blow her freaking head off!” I yelled not thinking about what I was saying. I held my gun tight and pointed it at the woman. I could tell I wasn’t thinking straight but it was to late to stop now. A girl with orange hair about my age popped out of the corner
“Hey daddy, who’s there?” The girl said then shrieked. Her hair literally stood up in that way that no matter how much hair jell you used you could still never get it to move like that. “dad!!! Why do you always have to harass the visitor’s.” her hair flopped down to normal. “come in”
“no Issy!” the man hissed under his breath. “do you not even see the gun to Irene’s head”
“Daddy!!! Every time a visitor comes you act like this until he or she runs away or someone gets hurt” she growled “im sorry about my father you know how they are.” She said to me. The father seemed furious and that comment just pushed him over the top but luckily his attempts to stop me had subsided due to his anger redirection. I walked in and I was in aw. This place was practically a spaceship to our modern community. In easier words for you to contemplate it look pristine almost like the bombs never happened, until I caught a glimpse of the... for lack of a better word life forms.
