Today was without a doubt the best Valentine's Day I've ever had. Last year's was great, but this year's was excellent. I spent the entire day with the love of my life. We watched a movie at my house for a few hours and then we went out to eat at a nice restaurant. To be completely honest, it was the first real dinner date I've ever been on with him. I mean, we've eaten at fancy restaurants before, but always with our parents or something present. This time, it was just the two of us, and it was so romantic... After dinner, we went and saw the movie Hotel for Dogs, which was really cute (and a bit sad in some parts). After the movie, he brought me home and we said our goodbyes in my garage.

Tomorrow morning, my bf is going away to Virginia to go to a relative's funeral, so I won't see him for a week, maybe less... so naturally, it was very hard for us to let go. He held me as tight as he could and told me that he's going to be back no matter what and that I shouldn't be upset that he's going away. I agreed with him, but deep down, I couldn't help but feel sad. We gave each other one last tight hug at the door and while we were hugging, I could feel the tears starting to well up in my eyes. I was trying my hardest to hold them back because I hadn't wanted him to see me cry. To my surprise, when I pulled away, he was crying. Just a few little tears. I wiped them away, gave him one more kiss, told him I loved him and to have a safe trip, and then he left. As soon as I closed that door behind him, I just let myself cry. I'm going to miss him so much... but I know that he'll come back to me in a few days and that whenever I'm missing him and feeling upset about his absence, I can just snuggle with the dog plushy that he bought me for Valentine's Day. And on the flip side of the coin, whenever he's starting to miss me while he's away, he can snuggle with the dog plushy that I got for him.

It's going to be a long week...
