If light enters the mind, does darkness consume the heart?
Does putting pieces together rip a world apart?
If nothing is something but somehing is everything
A re-run of history yet it's still rendering
Profound from the heart yet it's not deep at all
When summer is winter, and spring becomes fall
Nothing's what it seems, but still it's everything we see
Not worth to me nor you, yet important to be free?
But we are all slaves of the heart, prisoners of the mind
Glued together by an otherworldly bind
Not seen, yet seen, still never seen before
Get what you want but you always still want more
A prison cell of joy, an arcade of sorrow
Emotionless today but springing up tomorrow
Fighting others battles without fighting your own
Like an orchestra of life that's always out of tone
So what is life to the other people that you see?
Is it violence and sorrow, or joyful and crazy?
Maybe happy and calm, when nothing goes wrong
But then their nightmares are unleashed like a crash of a gong
Like a hurricane that strikes destroying houses and ship decks
Tornadoes destroying trailers and leaving helpless wrecks
Eruptions that can reach down to burn the farthest tree
Is this even life for the likes of you and me?
Well we are living it now but have nothing to fear
There are many like us who can help wipe your tears
