So, yeah. My school is lame. Turns out they blocked Myspace and Facebook last week. I can still get on hotmail, LJ, icanhascheezburger, and fmylife.com (which is a fantastic site) but no Myspace of Facebook. And pro'lly no YouTube. Kinda makes me sad. I has a sad.
Aww, crap. I was gonna post some stuff I made a week or so ago using Illustrator, but I can't. I'm at school and those things were on my myspace. I hadn't had the chance to put them on photobucket yet. Darn.
Also... I got back this stupid project I had to do for Comp II a couple weeks ago. Journal entries. Really lame and a waste of time and paper. Anyway, I procrastinated -- of course-- and did them all in one night as soon as I got my computer back (it's power supply got fried last monthish). This took me about 6 hours. Six. I got home from work that night, hopped on my computer, and started doing it. I had most of it done already, since I took notes on the reading (let's pretend I actually read the stories and poems. Not the real truth where all I did was take notes on the student presentations we did, which had the same information the journals needed.) so all I had to do was type it up in the neat little columns and whatnot she wanted.
SO! It gets better. Not only did I stay up until about 4 AM doing this (would've had it sooner if my computer functioned) but I realized maybe a fourth in that I wasn't double spacing it, like the instructions said. Whatever. I fixed that, 'cause I wanted an A since I only got a B on the first paper. *grumbling.* But, yes, so I reprinted a bunch of stuff. We could also get extra credit if we did more entries than the bare minimum. We needed 24, but we read 31 or 33 things. This meant I did all of them. I think I had 31 total, almost all of them 2 pages, double spaced, size 12 font Times New Roman. Yeah. Lots and lots of freakin' paper. When I was done I hole punched it and put it in a little 1 or 1/2 inch binder. It looked all pretty and I even numbered the pages like she asked. I did everything the handout asked us to.
Wanna know the REAL kicker? When she gave them back to us Thursday she said that if we typed it up and it looked like we put some effort into it we got extra credit. 10 points. She said NOTHING about "If you worked your a** off and did all the entries, even though I only required 24, you get extra credit," like she did when she gave the assignment. *more grumbling.* I did get the full 40 out of 30, but I got as much as someone who did the bare minimum of journal entries but just so happened to type it up and not sound like an idiot. I could've slept for an extra, like, hour, if I had known she was gonna do that. My friend who only did half of the entries- but typed it- got 25 out of 30.
Why am I so upset about this? I have NO clue. It just kinda irked me. Stupid assignment and then I don't get credit for busting my a** trying to get extra credit- or at least make up for what I thought I may have done wrong.
But in lighter news- the assistant manager at work who's been very ill lately is supposed to be back at work now. I didn't get a chance to call yesterday, though I meant to. She had a tumor removed and all sorts of fun girly stuff wrong. Poor dear.
On the bummer side though, I still have to work Friday night, Saturday night, and all of Sunday. I get NO weekend.

AND Monday 5:30-9:30.
And then that TuesdayI have a paper due. Which I have yet to start. My bad.
And next week (April 6-12) I have 2 days off. Tuesday and Sunday.
Monday: 5:30-9:30
Wednesday 4:30-9:30
Thursday 4:30-9:30
Friday: 12-9:30 (gonna suuuuuuuck)
Saturday 1-9:30 (also gonna suuuuuck)
I mean, seriously. I'm the ONLY one going to school at that place right now. Until Paul goes to graduate school. And here I am having to rush to work Wednesday right after classes. I have class 'till almost 4 on Mondays and Wednesdays. I told the manager when my class ends and that I'd like an hour of travel time, so I can eat. I don't care what she says, it does NOT take only 15 minutes to get to school from work or vice versa. She lives near the school, but she doesn't try to travel that way around 4 or 5. It's hell. *grumbly* So, I'll havta go hungry 'till my break basically, which I get no lunch, so if I DO get food I'll havta cram it down my throat. Thursday I technically have work studies until 4:30. So the woman I work for will be screwed if she actually has enough work for me to go from 1:30 to 4:30. I told my manager that if she NEEDED me I could skip work studies and be at the mall around 2 on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
This woman has no compassion. I mean, seriously. We had 3 part timers. One doesn't work nights, one only works nights, and there's me. Kinda in the middle. (no mornings Mon-Thurs) And a full timer, her, and the assistant manager. Soon there will be another full timer.
I hate that place sometimes. I mean, yeah, in the week of suck I'll make *does math* just over $200 before taxes... But duuuuuuuuuude. Student. Has another job. Not designed to work 30 hour weeks! That's what full timers do! I was worked almost 40 hours around Christmas and thought I was gonna die.
Sorry for bitching. I just hate that palce sometimes. I wasn't working this much when we had about 3 people quit in about a month. (Seriously. One dude stopped showing up, soon after that another girl just showed up and quit, and another dude quit one Saturday night.) I was working LESS when we had people leaving and a girl in the hospital!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What's the deal, people!
Maybe it's the week the manager's taking vacation. Wait. No. Don't think so. That would only make sense.
To all of you who think Spencers Gifts would be an AWESOME place to work, change your minds real quick. The company's full of stupid and they don't know how to do anything.
*grumbly cranky noises*
I don't do mornings and I don't do 30 hour weeks. I asked for up to 15 not long ago.
