[Pleasantries and Sunrises]

I had awoken groggily, remembering the flying yesterday put a morning smile on my face too tired to really try you know? It was still dark in my room, and i had no clue where the old man was, so I got up, and stumbled into the closet. A thought crossed my mind just now; why not, since i have time, try on a few of the clothes she left behind? so i did. I couldn't see very well, and i cant control my magic yet... so i grabbed three outfits and ran out of the room, i had seen another room here in the cave which was always bright. When i walked in, i noticed there was only a small sky light, But the light reflected off of large mirror-like facets in the walls. I was giddy, I had just seen the clothes i picked up, and was eager to try them on. I slipped out of my nightgown and put on the first outfit i got. It was similar to my flight-dress, but it was longer, possibly a lounging gown? it didnt follow the colors though. It was a pale gray, much like birds wings with pink streaks in it. It was trimmed with some pink lace around the cuffs and bottom hem. It looked nice, but not as nice as some of the others. I slipped out of this one and feld it neatly, placed it on the ground. i picked up a very interesting one next. I had to put it on before anything, so i slipped into the gown, and it was marvelous. Made of the fines silk; it reminded me of a sunrise or sunset, the colors were reds, oranges, yellows, and a dark maroon, all swirled languidly throughout the gown. the edges of the gown were accented by iridescent gold lacework. My long brown hair fell down past my shoulders, and it rippled whenever i shook my head. My It seemed to flow like water over the gown.
Immediately, i heard a long sigh, I whirled around to see Nysicia, staring at me with those sightless eyes. My heart stopped, and my cheeks flushed. and i had to avert my eyes. "Child, i did not expect you to be awake this early, but all for the better, i was going to wake you and show you something. Come with me." he gave me a lingering glance, then walked out of the room. i quickly changed into the third outfit i had found, a plain white summer dress. Fitting and simple. If he can't see, what was so nerve wracking about me seeing him there? I caught up to him, my cheeks still flushed. i stammered out an apology "S-so, I'm sorry a-about the dress, does it remind you of your family?" "yes." he said curtly. "It reminds me of my wife, she was a marvelous woman. she made that dress little-by-little, carefully, Every day I was gone. When I came back for good, she added that gold trim to it. she was so relieved that i hadn't died." "Wow.. thats incredible... this might be intrusive, but did you have any children?" ok, so my question was a bit sudden, but oh well "yes i did, i had two sons and a daughter. My sons were called to war and were killed, my daughter ran away in grief and tears because of their deaths." so he wasn't just some crazy old man, he had a family I felt warm tears p***k my eyes, i brushed them away quickly, maybe he wont notice. "here, i want you to see what inspired my wife."
I looked up, here was an outcrop on the cliff. I looked forward and saw something which i will never forget. The sun had just risen, there was a lake down below me which was reflecting the light of the sun, turning it into molten gold. The forest nearby was ancient and heavily wooded. The sky was a basin of reds and pinks, the colors dancing together in a fluid dance of beauty. I was about to say somthing, but Nysicia put his hand on my shoulder, and shook his head gently then turned his head back to the sky; basking in the radiance of the morning sun.
